Mason's pov

Last night I went to a jewelry store with Asher to buy her a necklace when I saw him eyeing the rings selection rather than looking for bracelets or necklaces as I was wondering if he was going to propose to Jessamyn his girlfriend. I am going to support him one hundred percent getting married at this age. Huh? it must have been incredible to already know that he has everything set in his life.
If I had a choice I would have bent a knee myself to ask my songbird Rochelle to marry me as I have already asked her father for permission a long time ago but I didn't want to scare her away too quickly with my forwardness. I was mentally prepared for life itself too.

"Hey man, are you going to propose to your girlfriend Jess?"I asked Asher.

The night before the gala charity auction I think he was planning on doing it on a massive stage during the auction in front of everyone else who they already know like friends, family and teachers, although he should probably doing it a place that was both meaningful for them anyways,  i wasn't going to say anything to anyone else about it  but between Wyatt and Fletcher who had the world most biggest mouth in all of Vancouver, Canada even if they were always trying to passed it off as giving the people clearly what they need like some public services of transportation being delivered to other people through them. However, the ring that he had chosen for her was a flawless princess hidden halo even if someone offered me a ring as beautiful as that then i would say yes for the right price. Only kidding hahaha but I did getcha there didn't I!

Good for him though that he was willing to marry his girlfriend as we would all be going to our last year of university soon next year and then afterwards, we would be going into the big leagues. I would choose to stay fully supportive of  his or their decision to get married and nobody else could try to convince me differently that those two people didn't deserve each other  even if I took as my responsibility as her unrelated blood big brother/ unbiological or not I would always be there for her. I would rise to any challenge to keep them two together to vouchered for them on their wedding day against all of the odds that they were meant for one another.

"Yes, but keep it a secret until I'm ready to tell our teammates because I wanted it to be a surprise."Asher stared at the ring like it holds his whole future and then continued to say "did you think i'm moving too fast bro." he sighed to himself being lost in his thoughts. I certainly wasn't going to tell him what to do especially when it was only his life not mine.

I learned a long time ago that what may be right for you might not be right for someone else since everyone else already had their own preference so who was i to be the judge of their life  journey. Rochelle and I were practically the one who helped them get together and not to mention how close everyone else in our friendship group was. There was no way they could not choose out of all of us who to be his best man.  A competition would be on the horizon between all of my hockey teammates and I for the prize of being Asher best man for his wedding whereas I couldn't predict what Jessasnym was going to do in order to help her choose who should be her maid of honor too.

Asher had brought the ring as I had brought a necklace for my favourite girl who had sent me a picture of her shoulder length hair because she was never too afraid of standing out from the crowd everywhere she goes people would recognise her really distinctive looks. I actually have plans to marry her someday but she doesn't want to over shine her best friend because Jessamyn's big day today.

"Honestly, no, I think you're moving at a correct pace for someone like you. Who forking cares about what anyone else or society thinks about it when they don't know you as well as I do!" I told Asher in bluntness about what I think about his plan to marry his girlfriend.

We started walking out of the jewelry store as we soon made our way back into his car driving to the other side of town to get the university gala for the hockey auctions or otherwise coach Jensen would make us run twenty laps around the football fields for being tardy because we were the money makers. I drove the car this time around since Asher was on a phone call with Rochelle and asking her to do him a solid favor by singing at the gala.
