(I don't think the names of Clio's parents were ever explicitly said so I'm going to just make them up. If we do know them and I just missed them, please tell me and I'll just edit that out. Thanks <3)
(Also I know I've said this before but just ignore the spells I made up lol)
Princess Sofia rushed through the hallways of her castle, headed towards the entrance door. The royal family of Corinthia was visiting today, and she had to be there to welcome them. She arrived at the door right as a big red carriage stopped in front of the staircase leading into the castle.
"Sofia, great. You're just in time." Amber, who was already there, commented and directed her gaze back at the carriage.
On the side of the staircase, Baileywick adjusted the glasses on his nose and opened a scroll that he was holding in his hands. "I now present: King Elijah, Queen Helen, and Princess Clio of Corinthia!" He read the names of the guests. The first one to exit the carriage was Clio, who quickly ran to the other children. After her, her parents came out calm and collected, and so did two more people accompanying them.
"Sofia! Amber! Hi, James!" The princess called for her friends as she ran up the stairs. "I'm so excited to hang out with you guys today!"
"Me too!" Amber returned with the same energy. "I have a bunch of things to do in mind. And so many new tiaras to show you. We can try them out together!"
"Oh, I can't wait!" Clio excitedly squealed back.
"I'm not going to be doing any of that, right?" James joined.
"Of course not, if you don't want to." Amber assured him. "But you can always change your mind!" They all laughed, and then she turned back to Clio. "It's so weird to have you here without Hildegard."
"Yeah. She had a family matter to attend." Clio explained. "That's all she said, I don't know what it is."
"She'll tell us all about it in school on Monday." The other princess concluded."Let us head inside, shall we?" Baileywick announced and opened the door wider than it already was, to which the two royal families made their way into the castle.
"Sofia, wait!" Clio called for her. The princess turned around to see the other two people walk up to the entrance door. "I want you to meet Nikos, our Castle Steward, and (Y/N), our Royal Sorceress. Nikos, (Y/N), this is Princess Sofia.
"Hello. I have heard plenty about you, Your Highness." The steward bowed.
"It is a pleasure to finally meet you." The woman added.
"It's nice to meet you, too." Sofia returned. "I love the color of your robe, it's so pretty."
"Why, thank you." (Y/N) humbly replied, to which they all headed inside as well.
"We have a royal sorcerer too, you know." Sofia went on.
"You don't say." (Y/N) replied with a chuckle.
"Uh-huh. Mr. Cedric is the best." Sofia smiled.
The woman thought about the sorcerer's name for a moment. "Isn't that the son of Goodwyn the Great?" She noticed.
"It is."
"How exciting! Then I have to meet him today." She thought."Oh, my apologies!" Baileywick walked quickly back towards them, after escorting most of the royals to the dining room. "I wasn't aware there were more people with you, Your Highness." He spoke to Clio.
"It's okay." She laughed. "These are (Y/N) and Nikos, our own Castle Steward. I'm sure you two have a lot in common."
Baileywick looked the other man up and down. "I already see a few similarities. I just hope he is not like the last steward that visited our castle." He joked.
"Are you talking about Slickwell, of Rudistan?" Nikos recognized. "That was a terrible thing he did to you. So unnecessary, too."
"I agree. But, all is well now." Baileywick responded. "Right this way, everyone." He directed them into the dining room as well and, on the way there, engaged in further conversation with Nikos. After everyone had finished dessert, the adults remained seated to talk. King Roland and Elijah discussed the kingdom of Freezenburg and the situation with its provinces, and Miranda was listening to Queen Helen speak about her family's recent vacation to Khaldoun. Baileywick and Nikos were having an intense conversation about different designs of chandeliers, while the four children were slowly getting more bored of sitting at the dining table. Corinthia's Royal Sorceress was pretending to be interested in whatever the castle stewards were discussing, but she wasn't very good at hiding that she didn't care either.
"Miss (Y/N), are you also bored?" Sofia spoke.
The woman was pulled out of her thoughts. "Is it that obvious?" She chuckled.
"Well, you aren't talking to anyone." James noticed. "And we don't know what to talk about." He sunk in his chair with a loud, bored groan.
Suddenly, Sofia's face lit up as she came up with an idea. "Hey, do you want to meet Mr. Cedric now?"
"I'd love to, actually!" (Y/N) responded cheerily. "But are we allowed to leave yet?"
"Let me take care of that." Sofia assured her. "Amber, Clio, I'll be back soon." She got up and strutted over to her father to ask for permission to leave, which he easily granted.
