Ally

As I stared wide-eyed at the massive building of my high school through the bus' windows, those seated in the bus got up and made their way towards the sliding doors.

I too followed their actions and slung my bag around my shoulder. I turned to Hayden to see his eyes fixed on me. Noticing I'd caught him he cleared his throat before standing also. I glanced to my left at Meredith who had slipped by me and was now heading towards the exit.

"Well, I'll see you some other time." I said to Hayden and taking my leave because I did not want to lose her in this crowd of people.

A look of surprise crossed Hayden's face and he went to grab my shoulder.

"I can show you around since your'e new around here."

Looking into his eyes I could've sworn a look of desperation flashed in them. Why does he want to help me? What good will it do for him?

I gave him a grateful smile and shrugged of his hand. "It's fine! I made a friend and she'll do."

I kind of felt bad for declining his offer but he may have an ulterior motive, and thinking back on what my mom told me, I don't want to get into any sort of trouble. I just want to slide by smoothly, get good grades, and meet true friends. Besides that I've read quite a lot of books featuring romance and when a random guy offers to show you around, and especially the good looking type, it's not always in the innocent and helpful way. By looking at Hayden and from what I can tell he might be the exact type to fool around. Don't want to risk it.

I gave him one last glance before catching up to Meredith with quick footsteps. Exiting the bus I rushed over to her. She was nearing the school's entrance.

"You've got to wait for me." I heaved between exhaustion. I stopped to crouch with my hands on my knees. Meredith stopped and rolled her eyes with a laugh, complying with my request.

"I thought you were gonna take your time with Hayden so I figured I'd give you guys some space."

At her reply I briskly shook my head. "Nah, believe me it's not like that."

The red head's arms were crossed and her face held suspicion.

"We literally just met and your'e already doubting me."

Meredith shrugged in an uncaring manner.

"Name please?" The old woman behind the counter questioned, her face emotionless. She was typing away at her computer, her eyes darting left and right on the screen.

"Ally." I replied, shifting from foot to foot.

Her eyes met mine with a 'really?' look. "I meant full name, Miss." She looked about done with her day and it was only morning. (A/N: I can relate to this woman)

My eyes went big and with an almost frenzy tone I stated, "Oh! Hofferson, Ally Hofferson."

Nodding her head she typed my response and turned to her mini printer that'd buzzed alive. Retrieving the small slip of paper from it's opened lid she handed it over to me with a sigh.

"Here's your schedule and locker combination. I hope you have a great experience for your first year in high school."

I don't think she meant that but I smiled in thanks anyways. "I honestly hope so too."
