Denise

I drove to the mall to meet up with my best friend Leah to start shopping for baby clothes.

Me and Leah have been friends since we were babies so she's basically my sister. We both grew up in Houston and were both the only child. Our parents were really close friends so we were always around each other. When my dad passed and me and my mom moved to Cali we lost touch. It was really tough living in a new place without her with me. Last year she surprised me by moving out here for school and we've been inseparable ever since.

I sent her a text telling her I was at the mall and sat at the food court waiting for her. Knowing her it's gonna take her a while to get here so I stood in line at Johnny Rockets to get something to eat.

This tall lightskinned boy stood in line behind me. I turned around to look at him and he was staring at me hard. He was pretty cute, he had green eyes, dimples, and a clean line up with little curls on the top of his head. I turned back around and focused my attention on the menu.

"What's good little mama, gonna act like you don't see me standing here?" The boy asked stepping closer to me.

I ignored him.

"I know you want a piece of this, and the way that ass look in them pants I want a piece of that too." He continued.

He was really starting to get on my nerves and I was about to say something to his ass and put him in his place.

"Hey baby girl sorry I'm late" Leah said walking up and kissing me on the cheek, "I had to get some rest after they way you put it down last night" she said smacking my but.

Me and Leah had this thing that when the other one was getting hit on and felt uncomfortable we would act gay. She tends to take her character really serious sometimes.

"It's fine baby" I said playing along.

By this time the dude had backed up and started messing with this young chick by the fountain.

We busted out laughing.

"Anyways, how's my little god daughter" Leah cooed rubbing my belly.

"Hungry." I replied as I began ordering my food.

We sat and ate then began going from store to store picking up anything pink that we saw. We ended up getting bibs, onesies, pacifiers, bows, dresses, socks, blankets, nipples, pretty much anything we felt the baby would need for the first month.

"So have you guys thought of any names?" Leah asked

"Well kinda, Cam wants the baby to be named after him but I told him that was dumb and the last thing I need is two Cams in the house" I said imagining having a mini female Camron walking around the house acting like her dad. "You'll have to put me in an asylum" I joked

"Oh hell nah" Leah laughed " I say you name her something special, a name with meaning" she said

"That's what I said"

"I say you name her after someone you love, and I give you my permission to name your daughter after me" she said grabbing my hand and looking me deep in my eyes

"Leah .... I'm not naming my daughter after you" I said laughing at the fact that her and Camron are both the same amount of crazy.

"Whatever hater" she said pushing my hand away.

We spent the rest of the day at the mall then Leah had to go to her evening class. I drove home and went straight to bed.

Camron

I got home around 7 after going to the park and playing ball with my brothers.

I pulled up and saw Denise's car in the drive way. I walked in the house and all the lights were off. When I went in the room I saw Denise laid out on the bed.

I got in bed next to her and laid my head next to her stomach. I put my hand on her belly and rubbed small circles .

"Hey baby girl, it's your daddy" I spoke out loud

"I know your not here yet but I love you like I've known you my whole life. Just know no matter what I'm going to always take care of you and your mommy." I said kissing her stomach and drifting off to sleep.
