My light

This is the story of two best friends- Embry and Emily who meet when they are five years old. They bond over their lack of knowledge of Embry's father and Emily's parents. But there is a twist- Emily is a Cullen that stays with the Black family during the summers, but only Billy truly knows her story. These summers are the time she looks forward to the most being around her best friends. During the year she travels with her family. Embry and Emily are soulmates. Even at 5, they know something is different though they can't say what exactly. Although they stay best friends until teenage years, by her 18th birthday at the end of the summer Emily has decision- leave or stay for good. A decision that teeters until they admit their love finally that last teenage summer before Emily makes the decision to leave for good. At 20, Embry starts fading and Emily doesn't know why, but I'm sure our readers do.

This will be told mostly from Emily's perspective, but maybe others or an unspoken narrator. Once Emily confronts Embry not only about his disappearance, but also of the news of her chronic illness she has recently been discovered to have, she realizes that life has to go on without him. Little does she know, once Embry looked into her eyes, he knew it wasn't just love but a true imprint soulmate that was all he wanted when he phased. He was too stunned after breaking up with her to take it back before she walked away.
As she goes on to further her career through all the pain and heartache not only from Embry but also from illness that he is still clueless about. She feels the imprint bond but doesn't know what it is, and truth be told it is not the true cause of her chronic illness, but intensifies the pain. They are slowly falling apart inside without each other even if Emily never lets it show. Will they come back together?

Find out as I post slow/sporadic updates. This doesn't follow the series fully and only this work is mine. The main themes are there but for the sake of the story plot I moved the the main characters and pack as a couple of years older before phasing. Bella is mentioned by the imprint of Jacob will be determined as time moves on. The Twilight Saga and series belongs to Stephanie Meyer.
