-time skip to the end of summer

I picked up my cell that woke me up at 7am. It's summer but Emmett doesn't care.
"Hello??"
"Hey sis, so I was looking at flights and need to know when you are coming back?" Emmett was set on me coming home as if I hadn't been dating Embry for the past three months.
"Emmett, again remember I'm staying here? I've accepted a managerial job at the local bakery/ coffee house, rented an apartment in La Push to be near work and my friends, and mom and dad has already approved this with Uncle Billy. What's the deal? I turned 18 yesterday meaning you can come back to Forks! Besides did you see that post my company made about me?? Wasn't that cake super cute?" I tried being nice about this to my brother but he won't take no for an answer. I will admit I was trying to change the subject which only makes him angry.

"Emily we can't come back or least couldn't be around La Push and besides I've been thinking of maybe a cruise around the world?" I roll my eyes as this is normal. Always have to come home due to the agreement, being a minor, Emmett's feelings and overprotective nature (although  he truly is an amazing brother), but at this point I have to do what is best for me! He will always throw in a trip, shopping spree, anything to keep me away from La Push, but will never tell me why. I thought it was Embry, but I know my brother holds secrets just like my family that he will never tell.

"Emmett, you know my decision hasn't not changed. We can take vacations during my PTO and I promise to be back for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Besides you can come here because we have a house here." They never really come to the house in Forks, but I assumed it was just in case they needed to stay close by me during the summers for some reason. Emmett as usual side steps the question and continues to badger me. I told him for the last time this is my decision and to either support me or stop calling...and he hung up.

Embry appears in the bedroom door at that moment, his eyes showing worry when he heard that last part. "You okay love?" I don't think I'll ever be used to him finally calling me the pet names I've been wanting for years. At the same time he is home, so it is natural.
"Just my brother ya know. I told him either support me or quit calling to argue, and he just hung up on me." I told him the entire story and he just wrapped me in a hug while peppering sweet kisses in my hair.
"I, for one, am glad you are staying. If you didn't, I was prepared to follow you." I give him a strange look and he quickly explains himself, "I meant so we didn't have to do long distance..unless you don't want to be together then-" I kissed him at that point, which completed the goal of shutting him up. As I pulled away and looked into his eyes, I knew this was home. "I will never want to be anywhere else, you are home and always have been since the day I met you." Embry smiled and responded, "Good, because I'm never letting you go!" He picked me up and twirled me in a hug as I laughed hysterically. "Okay okay, as long as you promise that!" He holds out his pinky and we promise forever, but we always did from the beginning.

With that, we move the rest of my junk over to my new apartment and head off to dinner where I am buying to thank everyone for their help moving. Who doesn't love free food for two hours of easy work? But in my surprise- nothing was broken!
