'No, no. You had to be imagining things. There's no way you could just... What the hell? That doesn't make sense! You just randomly started glowing in band? That's not how the refraction of light works, right? Did I miss something throughout class? Oh my God, what the hell is going on? Am I going insane?'

"Daphne?" A snapping noise rippled through the chaos flowing through Daphne's mind.

Daphne hummed, her head perking up. "What?"

Aubrey sighed, running a hand through her blonde hair. Her brown eyes stared into Daphne's blue ones. "Daphne, I was just asking what that was? You randomly started... Glowing? Was it some prop machine or-"

"I don't know, Aubrey, I just don't know..." Daphne muttered, "It doesn't make sense, I... I have no clue."

Aubrey furrowed her brows for a moment. "Yeah... Okay. I'm assuming it was one of your fun little tricks, soo... Have fun, I guess."

"It wasn't-!" Daphne began, but Aubrey was already shuffling off to pack for her next class. Daphne narrowed her eyes in annoyance, practically shoving her french horn back into the case. Why did people assume she was always making practical jokes? This was a serious matter!

Nevertheless, Daphne packed up, just in time for the familiar chime of a bell to ring through her ears. She winced slightly. The bell was just the right frequency to have the ability to give her a splitting headache.

On her way to her math class, though, Daphne hesitated. Her brain was raging a storm, and she wasn't in the mood for class. Daphne went into the bathrooms, locking herself in a stall. This should be good enough, shouldn't it?

As the time ran through, Daphne let the minutes melt away as she played a game on her phone. This seemed to distract her enough, the occasional sounds of girls chatting and gossiping in the bathroom flowing around her. Daphne didn't mind, just more blackmail incase she needed it.

Until there was a different type of noise. It sounded like trotting? That was strange. Making some weird girl was playing a sound effect. Until there was a knock on her door, followed by a brisk, "Hello?"

Daphne paused. What the hell, was that a boy? In the girl's bathroom? Oh, God... Immediately the thought of being caught skipping by a teacher filled her mind. She decided to protest, snapping back, "Excuse me? Are you lost? This is the girl's bathroom."

"Oh, I know," The boy continued on, despite Daphne's disapproval of the situation. "What's your name?"

Daphne blinked, glancing up from the floor she had so precariously propped herself up on. "That's a weird way to gain an introduction... I haven't even seen your face yet."

"Well, then open the door," The boy said simply.

Daphne let out a dry chuckle. She stood up, her backpack still slung against the side of the stall. She unlocked the metal lock with a small squeak, swinging the door open.

Before her stood a boy with a pale complexion, with curly brown hair. He also had some purple eyes that were almost blue, but Daphne could tell. His outfit contained of a simple white polo, along with some black jeans - that were rather strange. The cuffs were dragging against the floor, hiding his shoes. "Okay, you want me to introduce myself first?"

Daphne stayed quiet for a moment, before comprehending the situation and saying back, "Yeah. That's probably make me feel better."

"Alright, then! I'm Turner, an... Eighth grader." Daphne noticed the slight hesitation, but didn't say anything about it. "There! Now you know me, who're you?"

"Er, I'm Daphne Holt, I'm also an eighth grader..." Daphne trailed off, the confusion in her expression evident. "Are you new? I thought I knew everybody in our grade..."

"Y-you're in eighth grade?" Turner jumped slightly, clearly not expecting the sudden fact. "I thought you were in seventh grade! The- I was told you were thirteen..."

"... What?" Daphne's eyes went wide. Turner was 'told' she was thirteen? "First of all, I started school early because of my August birthday. Second of all, what the hell? Did somebody order you to kidnap me or some shit?"

"Uh..." Turner's cheeks flushed in embarrassment, and Daphne internally groaned. This kid was just wonderful. "I mean... I guess it could be considered kidnapping?"

Daphne felt herself almost choke at that sentence. "What the fuck? Okay, for starters, you are not kidnapping me. Got it? Secondly, who the hell sent you to get me?"

"Shoot, I ruined this..." Turner muttered to himself nervously. "Okay, listen. I just... I need you to follow me before anything attacks you. Understood?"

"Attacks me?" Daphne looked at the boy as if he had tiny horns on his head. "Now I'm starting to think you're fucking insane." Sure, she usually wasn't a potty mouth, but she also usually wasn't told that she was getting kidnapped.

"No, Daphne, please. We might be on a time crunch here, and I-" Turner's voice was getting more and more worried by the second, his sentence cut off sharply by a rippling scream coming from the hallway.

"Damn, is there a fight breaking out?" Daphne muttered under her breath, when suddenly Turner grabbed her forearm roughly. She scowled, turning towards the boy angrily. "Get your filthy hand off of me! Just leave me alone at this point!"

"Daphne, please! We've got to run, they've found you!" Turner practically begged, worry spread all across his face.

"You're fucking insane, let go-!" Daphne shouted back roughly, yanking herself out of Turner's grip. Turned did has a strong hold on her, so there was a slight red mark where he'd been grabbing her.

Suddenly there was a loud crash, followed by the bush of debris and dirt filling the air. Daphne gasped, instantly regretting it as she coughed fiercely into her arm. Looking up, her heart stopped. There stood a creature before them. It had what looked like a human, female head, but the body was some ugly morph between a human torso and bird legs and wings. The creature let out a strangled cry, it's wings flapping harshly. Daphne was too shocked to move, and as the wings began flapping all around, a rough gust of wind suddenly seemed to come out of their direction. Daphne was shoved against the wall, her head immediately hitting a metal hand dryer that laid on the bathroom wall sharply.

The brunette almost immediately was knocked unconscious by the contact, one last wild thought raging a war inside her mind.

What. The. Hell.

Then static filled her mind.
