New Orleans, Louisiana
39 days after incident

Ke'Ann leg shook rapidly as he sat outside the courtroom. Today was the day things would change for the better, and he'll be able to move on with less stress and more happiness. He assumed. That was all he's been wanting from the very first day after this incident. He was finally getting it in a way he should've done long ago. Legally. He was anxious about it though, especially with him having Winnie here. He had asked her to come for moral support. He was second guessing that decision as he thought more about what'll happen in the courtroom.

He was positive Joy and her lawyer would bring up the events in full details like he did with Rueben. That wouldn't be a good look for him but there was no going back. Exhaling sharply, Ke'Ann leaned his back against the wall and ran his sweaty hands over his pants. Any moment now Reuben was going to come out saying they were good to go and Ke'Ann didn't think he was genuinely ready for it. Then again, this was what he's been waiting for, so he couldn't chicken out.

It was now or never.

Seeing her hand rest on his leg made Ke'Ann stop shaking it. He turned to face Winnie, catching her comforting gaze. He let out a deep and heavy breath to calm himself down. His hand rested on top of hers and he rubbed the back of it with his thumb. He desperately needed Reuben to hurry up as he wanted this to be over already. And thankfully, he seen Reuben coming out of the courtroom in his sharp brown suit, and headed his way.

Ke'Ann stood to his feet and acknowledged Reuben with a handshake. "Are we ready?" He asked.

"Yes, we are," Reuben answered. Peeking past Ke'Ann, he seen Winnie and held his hand out towards her. "You must be Mrs. Harding."

Winnie nodded. "Winnie is just fine."

"My apologies. I'm Reuben."

"Nice to meet you. Are we ready?" She asked the same question.

"Yes, we are. Before we go in I'd like to lay down what you may expect inside. Ms. Hall and her lawyer are already inside with Judge Evans. Because you are the plaintiff, I was able to set some ground rules to assure a smooth process. The details of the night will not he exposed fully, other than the fact that you two had consensual sex, so you don't have to worry about Ms. Hall spinning anything," Reuben addressed. One problem down for Ke'Ann. Several more to go.

Reuben went on, "Each of you will get a chance to talk, but Judge Evans asks for no arguing as she will throw the case and walk off, not turning back. She's done it before, she'll do it again. Please keep the name-calling, the insults, and anything else to a minimum. I understand your frustration about the entire situation and how badly you want it to end. We can get that done respectfully and peacefully."
