1563- Elizabeth Merry (2 years)
Little Elizabeth was running through the field of daisies, trying to catch a beautiful orange butterfly; she was enjoying the sun shining on her caramel skin.
"I'm gonna get you," she said to the butterfly, "You fly very fast for something so little." She tried to jump to catch the butterfly, but the insect flew too high. "Darn it"
As Elizabeth's mother approached, she smiled warmly at her daughter's playful antics. She gently picked up Elizabeth and twirled her around, eliciting delighted laughter from the little girl.
"Alright, my little butterfly chaser," Elizabeth's mother said, her voice filled with affection. "Let's sit down and enjoy our snack together."
They settled down on a blanket spread out in the shade of a tall oak tree. Elizabeth's mother opened the basket and revealed an array of fresh fruits and vegetables. The vibrant colors and sweet aroma of the produce made Elizabeth's mouth water with anticipation.
As they savored the juicy strawberries and crisp apples, Elizabeth's father joined them in the field. He had a camera slung around his neck and a wide grin on his face.
"Looks like you two are having a wonderful time," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "Mind if I join in?"
Elizabeth's eyes lit up at the sight of her father. She reached out her arms, signaling for him to pick her up. With a gentle swoop, he lifted her into his arms, and she nestled against his chest, feeling safe and loved.
"Of course, darling," Elizabeth's mother replied with a smile. "The more, the merrier."
As they enjoyed their picnic, Elizabeth's father captured the joyous moments with his camera. He carefully framed each shot, preserving the memories of their time together in the field of daisies. Elizabeth watched with fascination as he adjusted the settings and clicked the shutter, appreciating the artistry behind his photography.
Elizabeth's father often used his camera to document their family's adventures and create a visual diary of their lives. He believed that photographs had the power to capture the essence of a moment and evoke emotions long after the moment had passed. Through his passion for photography, he not only preserved memories but also nurtured Elizabeth's love for the art form.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the field, Elizabeth's parents exchanged a knowing glance. It was time to pack up and head home, but the memories they had created that day would forever be cherished.
With a contented sigh, Elizabeth snuggled closer to her father, feeling the warmth of his love and the gentle rhythm of his heartbeat. As they walked hand in hand, Elizabeth knew that her parents would always be there to guide and support her, just like they did on that sunny day in the field of daisies.
• • • • • • • • • • • •As the sun began its descent below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the meadow, the family started their leisurely walk back home. Elizabeth's parents leisurely strolled along, reflecting on the day's events, while Elizabeth danced ahead, her laughter mingling with the gentle rustling of the daisies.
Without warning, a palpable tension gripped the air, stifling their carefree gaiety. A low, menacing growl echoed across the field, causing their joy to wither as dread settled in. Their hearts raced as they turned to face the source of the gut-wrenching sound.
A monstrous creature emerged from the depths of the fae forest nearby, its hulking form casting a shadow over the serene landscape. Its fur was matted and unkempt, its eyes burning with an untamed ferocity. The beast snarled, revealing gleaming, razor-sharp teeth and a maw dripping with viscous saliva. Elizabeth's parents instinctively shielded her from the impending danger, fear etched into every line of their faces.
In a desperate bid to protect their daughter, they stood firm in the face of the looming threat. Yet, their valiant efforts proved futile as the beast, relentless in its savagery, overpowered them.
"Elizabeth," her mother's voice quivered as she spoke, "run to Mabel's, darling. Everything will be okay." With a tearful smile, her mother urged her to flee, while her father bravely faced the advancing creature. Elizabeth obediently sprinted away, but her feet faltered at the edge of the field, turning to witness the unimaginable unfold before her.
Tears cascaded down her cheeks as she watched her beloved parents valiantly battling the monstrous foe. Their unwavering love and determination fueled every futile attempt to fend off the relentless onslaught. Tragically, their courage was no match for the merciless brutality of the beast.
In a heart-wrenching moment, her parents, bloodied and battered, fell victim to the creature's relentless assault, their lifeless bodies falling to the ground. The once serene field was now a canvas of tragedy, with red splatters amidst the once beautiful daisies, conveying a profound sense of loss and desolation. The beast ran away, maybe to find other targets.

Elizabeth stood frozen, her entire world crumbling before her eyes. She ran to her fallen parents, unable to grasp the enormity of her devastating loss. "Mom, Dad," she called out as she hurried back to their side. Falling to her knees, she gently held her father's hand and cradled her mother's head. The minutes felt like hours as she wept inconsolably, unwilling to let go of their warmth.
Amidst the enveloping darkness, a glimmer of hope emerged. A delicate butterfly, radiant and ethereal, fluttered into her line of sight. Landing softly on her outstretched hand, its resplendent wings carried an unspoken message of resilience and solace. It reminded Elizabeth that even in the depths of despair, life continued to offer moments of grace and comfort.
With an aching heart and the indelible imprint of her parents' love in her soul, Elizabeth made a solemn vow to uphold their legacy. Their unwavering affection would illuminate her path, and their cherished memories would fortify her spirit.
Rising from the field of daisies, and the painful fate of her parents, burdened by grief yet emboldened by newfound determination, Elizabeth found solace in the companion of the delicate butterfly. With the enduring love of her parents guiding her, she could never be sundered.
Years front this incident, this tragedy taught Elizabeth to always be kind and to be selfless. Till this year in 1582
She still sees the same butterfly, reminding her to always have hope, and to be strong in the hardest times
