After he washed his hands, Jamen went to go eat. He and his mom had a silent dinner.
His mom disturbed the silence and said, "We might be moving soon." That got his attention.
"Why, I love this neighborhood," Jamen replied, questioned alittle.
"Because you have no friends," his mom replied.
"I have Toby," Jamen replied back.
"Toby is our neighbor's dog Jamen," his mom replied with a little bit of attitude.
"I don't want to start a fight with you mom," Jamen replied nut it did start one. the fought for hours upon end. then they started to get a little bit physical. His mom had punched Jamen. that made Jamen really mad. He told his mom ot to do that, but that only angered her more. She never liked that type of language.
She said, "You're just like your father."
That triggered Jamen's feelings. His father died three years ago in a car accident. He was drunk at the time. But when he heard that, he ran upstairs grab some things, including his research, and ran out the door. His mother noticed him and ran after him. Jamen was on the track team, so he was faster than her. Jamen's mom stopped and cried for his name. He knew that she was sad, but he continued running.
His bully, Jake, saw himm and decided to follow him. When Jamen saw him and he decided to run into the forest. Jamen thought he could lose him there. But he was wrong.
Jake caught him and said, "Watcha' runin' for?"
Jamen bit his arm and ran off. Jake followed.
They ran into a cave. Jamen thought he could hide there. Jake had aslo followed him inside. Jamen had really good eyesight and was able to find the wall and walk by it. As he walked something bit him. It was a snake, and poisonous one at that. Jamen then thought, Why did i do this?
Jake was still trying to find him., but he had no luck. He was a quarterback o the football team. He probably couldn't see because he never played in light.
Jamen was losing strength, so instead of sneaking, he ran. Jake saw him as he ran. It was still pitch black in the cave, but Jamen could see light at the end of the cavern. He ran towards the light and noticed that he ran into a temple. He ran into one room and saw a tombstone. It read:
Here lies Barsiek, the on who rid of Mirike in the magical case for 10,000 years.
And in front of the tombstone was a case. A magical case that had something in it. It was an egg.
