Scarlet's P.O.V

I've probably sat straight up in my bed, writing down everything I remembered from my dream. After I had everything that I could possibly remember down on paper, I hid the paper in a safe spot. I figure with my mothers reaction about that man at the hospital, she wouldn't like my remembering of my accident. I can't bring up that incident again without the wrath of my mother coming alive with vengeance. How is that man connected to my accident? Is he the one who ran me over? But if he was the one to run me over why would he be so angry wit my mother and when he looked at me, he didn't have any remorse in his forest green gaze, I can't put my finger on what that look was but I remember that certain look. All these damn questions and I have no one to help give them to me. I could always ask my mother again but that went so well the first time, now didn't it? I can't ask Dr. Fields because he's not allowed to tell me anything which I then was confused but seeing how my mother acted when that man showed up, I have a suspicion she had something to do with that. There's really only one person I could ask, the man at the hospital but I don't want to approach him just yet. Just in case he did have something to do with my accident. I pull my knees up to my chest and gently lay my head down on top on my sheet clad knee caps. How and who am I going to get information from? I'm getting a head ache again. I huff loudly and fall hard back onto my fluffy pillows, holding my head. A light knocks is sounded from the other side of my door.

"Hey Scar?" my father's muffled voice calls for me.

"Yes, father? You can come in." I softly responded. He slowly opens the door all the way and steps in the doorway, smiling at me, "Your mom made some cream and strawberry filled crepes, if you want some?"

I nodded,"Yes I'll have some but first could I ask you something?"

"Yes, Of course. What's the matter, baby?" He crossed the room and I scooted over to the other side of my full size bed, so he could sit down next to me.

"Why won't anyone tell me who that man was and why did mother get so defensive when I asked?" I quietly speak while putting my head on my fathers broad shoulder.

"Honey, please trust me. Don't fight your mother on this. I've seen her be pushed to much and she just snaps..She can be dangerous when she snaps, Scar. Please I will tell you everything, just not here or while she's home." My father quietly tells me in my ear.

"Telling secrets now are we, Bruce?" My mother's voice startles my father and I.

"What? *cough* No darling, Just talking quietly talking to let her know to stop bringing up that topic, for good. She's also got a headache." He quickly stands up and walks over to my mother, kissing her on the cheek, "See you down stairs, Scarlet." With that he left my room without giving me a second glance. My mother continued to stand there in her bright red apron, a perfectly etched scowl written in her features, "I'll be seeing you when your showered and dressed. Just because your 23 doesn't mean you can ever come down in your sleep clothes and without a face. Your not 4 anymore," she then turns on her heels and clacks all the way down the hall and stairs leaving my bedroom door wide open.  I wait a few minutes for her to be yelling at my father but the only yelling I hear within a couple of minutes is, "Scarlet! Now!"
