(6) "Echoes of Rain and Love"

💙 "Maria," Thiha said, "you must listen carefully to the sound of the thunder until the rain stops. Listen despite your fear, and continue to listen. I will hold you tightly until the rain is over."

It rained heavily for about 30 minutes, with thunder echoing repeatedly. When the rain finally stopped, Thiha said, "From now on, you won't be afraid of thunder and rain anymore." He hugged her close.

Maria said, "Because of you, I faced the thunder and rain without fear for the first time in a long time. Thank you so much. I think I'll be able to go out in the rain now.

I'm not as afraid of thunder as I used to be because I listened to it without covering my ears. Thank you for being close to me and helping me overcome a lifelong fear. Can you let me go now?"

Thiha said, "I have something important to tell you. Please, let me hold you while I speak."

"Give me a moment and listen," Thiha continued, hugging Maria tightly. He rested his face against her back.

"I don't want to keep pretending anymore. I don't want to hide my feelings. I want to be with you for the rest of my life.

I'm already in love with you. I've been in love with you since the day I met you. If you allow me, let me win your heart. Let me love you," he said, his eyes filled with tears.

Maria replied, "Do you think women fall for men just because they have a sweet face and a friendly demeanor? I can't trust you. Men often use nice words for a moment. How can we know if they really love us?

It's an uncertain love. I can't trust any man. Love or no love, it's better for us to stay friends. Take back your feelings of love for me. Whenever I ask my mother about him, she insists that I shouldn't try to learn anything about him.

She blames our suffering on my father. Every time I bring him up, it brings her to tears. Because of this, I am determined not to fall in love, fearing I'll end up like my mother. If any boy tries to love me, I will walk away.

There are many things you don't know about my parents. I despise my father and everything associated with him. The love of boys terrifies me because it can change at any moment.

So, it's impossible for us to get close. I intend to keep my distance. Thank you for everything today, my friend. Let's stay friends. I can't go there with you. I'm going back." She let go of Thiha's hand and walked away. Thiha stood there in tears, unsure of what to say next. He went back to the restaurant and drank a lot of beer. Then he returned to the condo at 12:30 AM.

Before entering, he walked alone for a long time in the rain-soaked housing area.

He entered the condo after the rain stopped, his whole body drenched.

He stood in front of Maria's room and tried to make a phone call but didn't dare to. He wanted to call her, but he lacked the courage. But Thiha couldn't resist the urge in his heart and called Maria. But... Maria promptly hung up. Feeling miserable and dejected, Thiha went into his room. His clothes were still wet from

the rain, but he had beer in his room again.

With tears streaming down his cheeks, he wrote in his diary, "Why?! But I'll still love you, no matter
