The atmosphere in the Domus Flau arena was electric as spectators filled the stands, eagerly awaiting the start of the Grand Magic Games. Among them, the Fairy Tail guild members who weren't competing sat together, their excitement palpable.
Asuka, now a striking 26-year-old woman, turned to her younger guildmates. "So, what do you think? Do you think Master Lexy will pick any of you for future events?"
Elwin shrugged, his expression nonchalant. "Honestly, I'd rather stay out of it. These games can get pretty intense."
Layla's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "I hope she does! I'd love a chance to try out my mom's celestial spirits in a big competition like this."
Lizzy and Xavire exchanged a meaningful glance before Xavire spoke up. "It would be nice if we could be on the same team," he said, a slight blush coloring his cheeks.
Lizzy nodded in agreement, smiling warmly at Xavire.
Their conversation was interrupted as Master Lexy approached, accompanied by her great-grandfather Makarov, Jude, Mavis, Igneel, and Luna Dragneel. The group settled into seats near the younger members.
Layla leaned forward, curiosity getting the better of her. "Master Lexy, what uniforms did you pick for Nashi and the others?"
Lexy chuckled, shaking her head. "Actually, I didn't pick them. Carla, Happy, and Lily took care of that."
Esmeralda raised an eyebrow, looking skeptical. "I'm not sure having flying cats pick outfits was the best choice."
The group erupted into laughter, but quickly fell silent as the announcer's voice boomed through the arena.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to reveal the eight guilds that have made it to the Grand Magic Games!"
The tension in the air was palpable as the announcer began listing the guilds.
"Coming in at number eight we have... Quatro Cerberus!"
"Coming in at number seven we have... Twilight Ogre!"
"Coming in at number six we have... Mermaid Heel!"
"Coming in at number five we have... Blue Pegasus!"
As each guild was announced, their members entered the arena to cheers from the crowd. Then came the moment everyone was waiting for.
"Coming in at Number four we have...Lamias Scale!"
"In third place... Sabertooth!"
A collective gasp went up from the Fairy Tail section. Makarov's eyes widened in surprise. "Sabertooth in third? But they're the second-ranked guild in Fiore!"
Before anyone could recover from the shock, the announcer continued.
"Coming in number two is the new guild... Dragon Fang!"
A murmur rippled through the crowd as the unfamiliar guild made their entrance. The Fairy Tail members exchanged worried glances, remembering their earlier encounter with the mysterious group.
"And finally, coming in at number one..."
The arena fell silent, everyone holding their breath.
"Fairy Tail!"
The crowd erupted into deafening cheers as Nashi, Gideon, Liddan, Sylvie, and Naku entered the arena. The Fairy Tail section went wild, jumping to their feet and shouting encouragement to their guildmates.
One of the three announcers spoke up, his voice filled with admiration. "Fairy Tail has held the title of Fiore's number one guild for many years now. Their performance in the preliminary round, finishing first, shows they're not ready to give up that title without a fight!"
