Episode 2 Finale - Murder on Elle Street
"The modifications look as if they were going for a doll," Sebastian said, muttering the words as we sat in the back of the limo. "But how could a doll move and talk? If they just replaced her parts with doll limbs... then how was her soul extracted from her body?"
I coughed a little, clearing my throat. "Maybe she's not a doll."
"My lord?" he said.
"She had these tubes coming out of her head," I explained, voice a little raspy so I cleared my throat. "They looked as if they attached to something, so I have reason to believe she's not human. She's an android."
"That would make sense," Sebastian remarked. "That would make perfect sense. That's why she had no soul... she's dead."
"Exactly." I coughed a little, covering my mouth.
"And the modifications with her skin looked doll-like. I wonder what this 'father' was going for? Was he trying to make an alive doll or a robot? And why did he have to kill someone for it?"
I cleared my throat again. "The human body is already wired, Sebastian. The brain is our power source, so naturally-if you were that good-you could make an alternative brain with alternative parts. Everything else is connected."
"I know, master," Sebastian said, "but that's just lazy! It's like me as a butler saying that I'd make a homemade meal for my master, and then bringing home pre-roasted chicken and stating it as my own."
I coughed again, feeling a little light-headed. "Yes, if you took the pre-roasted chicken and tore out his skin to form your own chowder."
"It's still lazy." He watched me for a moment. "Master, are you alright? You look a little pale and you've been coughing for a while."
"I'm fine," I said, tipping my head back and setting it on the wall. "I just have something in my throat, that's all."
His red eyes narrowed as he watched me.
"Stop looking at me like that, I'm fine."
His brows relaxed but his eyes remained narrowed, and he leaned back in his chair, looking out the window. "Ah, it seems we've entered back in the city. It's very pretty at night, my lord."
Suddenly, my throat constricted, and I covered my mouth, coughing harder as I leaned forward.
"Sebastia-n," I gagged, clutching my throat tightly.
I started gasping, choking on the air as if it was suddenly too thick to breathe.
Sebastian glanced back at me. "Master?"
I choked on my own breath, covering my mouth as a sudden nausea overwhelmed me and I quickly yelled, "PULL OVER!"
The car suddenly swerved to the side, and I burst out the car door, rushing to the sidewalk and hurling into the street.
My vision tinted with white, the world around me curving and deforming.
I heard Sebastian rush after me. "Master! Master, what's happening? Are you alright?"
I collapsed onto the sidewalk, still struggling to breathe as he kneeled beside me, a look of pure concern on his face.
"Master, talk to me!" he exclaimed. "What's wrong?!"
His form blurred and refocused, and I breathed uneasily.
"Master!" he said, red eyes glowing in fear. "Master, say something!"
I just continued coughing, struggling to breathe as I suddenly felt dizzy, and my world spun like a hurricane.
"Master!" Sebastian called, voice growing more and more distant. "Master, what happened?!"
I fell backward.
And everything turned black.
