3RD PERSON POV

Haerin and Eunchae woke up to the usual morning routine—breakfast, getting ready for school, and preparing to leave the house. Just as they were about to head out, Hanni came downstairs in her uniform, a pair of khaki sweatpants underneath. She walked toward the entrance where Haerin and Eunchae were standing, exchanging curious glances.

Eunchae furrowed her brows, eyeing her sister. "Are you okay, sis? It's still pretty early for you to head to school," she asked, her arms crossed, studying Hanni as she laced her shoes.

Hanni, a flicker of annoyance crossing her face, glanced up at her sister. "It's up to me when I leave, okay?" she snapped, her voice sharp. She shot a quick, almost playful smile at Haerin, who was standing there, completely taken aback by the sudden change in Hanni's behavior.

Haerin was about to bend down and lace her own shoes when, to her surprise, Hanni suddenly dropped to her knees and started lacing Haerin's shoes for her. Haerin stood frozen, unsure of what was happening. Eunchae's jaw dropped, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"Oh my God! You really aren't fine, are you?" Eunchae exclaimed, rushing over to Hanni and brushing her hand against her sister's forehead, clearly concerned that something was wrong. "Are you sick? Do you have a fever?"

Hanni, feeling the pressure mounting, quickly shoved Eunchae away, slapping her hand off. "Stop touching me, and move, or we'll be late for school," she muttered, shoving the door open and stepping outside. She waited by the door for Haerin and Eunchae to follow her, locking the door behind them once they were all outside.

The walk to the bus stop was quiet. Hanni walked ahead, her pace steady, while Haerin stayed silent, seemingly deep in thought. Eunchae, as usual, was babbling nonstop, her arm hooked around Haerin's as she complained about the difficulty of math. Haerin didn't mind it much—it reminded her of how much younger Eunchae was, a far cry from the complicated relationship she had with Hanni.

As they waited for the bus, Haerin was engrossed in her phone, reading messages from her family. Meanwhile, Hanni stood behind, trying to sneak glances at Haerin's screen, her curiosity piqued. She leaned in closer, trying to catch a glimpse, but Haerin, sensing the eyes on her, turned quickly.

"What are you trying to see?" Haerin asked, her tone sharp and annoyed as she caught Hanni in the act.

Hanni flinched, her face turning red. "I-I n-nothing," she stammered, clearly flustered under Haerin's gaze.

Haerin let out an exasperated sigh and turned back around, paying no more attention to Hanni. The bus arrived soon after, and they climbed aboard, making their way to school.

By lunchtime, Hanni was on her usual spot—the rooftop, skipping her fourth class and listening to music. These days, she found herself skipping fewer classes, though she didn't attend them to study. Instead, her gaze often wandered to Haerin, admiring her effortlessly beautiful features. The events from the previous night still echoed in her mind, and a small, involuntary smile tugged at the corners of her lips whenever she thought about Haerin.

Her peaceful moment was interrupted when a small, open milk carton suddenly hit her in the back, spilling its contents all over her shirt. Startled, Hanni spun around to find Ryujin and her gang, all of them laughing and mocking her.

A smirk crossed Ryujin's face. "You wanna die that badly?" she taunted, raising her eyebrows with a devilish grin.

Hanni, burning with rage, took a step forward. "No, I want to see you die badly," she shot back, her tone laced with venom.
