Chapter Thirty Two: Don't Walk Away... Just Trust Me.

Ebony 'Black' Riek"Finally," Sir stood up from the candlelit table, the tone in his voice longing and wanting. His eyes watched my figure, watched how my hips switched in the scarlet red that I'd chosen just for him.
He made me feel so pretty the way his eyes watched me. And he had very good reason.
As soon as he asked me on the date, I went straight to Neiman Marcus and bought that Stella McCartney satin slip dress. I wasn't going to spend the thousand dollars but it was for me and my self esteem. The way he looked at me like he wanted to slip me out of this satin was worth the check."You look so damn good," He held my hand while he pulled out my chair. He kissed my hand then sat me down. "So good."
If I didn't know any better, I'd say he looked better than me. I recognized his brown Stefano Ricci two-piece. I would bring up the price, but I already knew it. I could just slide it in with the mention of his job. His suit held his body and hid that stomach. Must've been an insecurity.
He sat down in his chair and smiled at me. I was stuck on those teeth and his smooth butter skin.
There was zero reason for a man to be as pretty as he."Your eyelashes are so long," I complimented him.
"Your legs are so long."
"I haven't even noticed your height until now. Stand up."
He grinned hard, smile lines on both sides of his mouth. Real pretty. "No, I am 5'11."
"You men just get shorter and shorter by the generation."
"Shouldn't matter to you," He smirked, mimicking me. But he's right. It shouldn't matter to me.
"You are so fine," I complimented him again, could not take my eyes away from his.
"Is that what you came here to tell me? I'm so fine?"
"You know you're fine."
My phone sang inside my clutch, Melanie Fiona's voice telling of the troubles in her life.
Nadine. Her and Cameron had been calling back to back for days, but they knew I wasn't answering.
I ended the call and put my phone on silent; should've done that before I even walked in.
"Your lovers?"
"You know it," I rolled my eyes.
"This is the best looking rebound you've ever had."
"How would you know? Plus everybody's a rebound after the first. That's why I got two."
"Twice the hurt."
"You got that right."
The waitress came to our table. I sat back and let Mr. Sir be the man he wanted to prove to me he was. He ordered a Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru for us both and winked over the table at me. The waitress walked away.
"What if I liked red wine and not white?"
"Tough. Drink your wine and hush your mouth."
We laughed. He felt like a breath of fresh air. He didn't know me; he knew the illusion of me, and that meant he couldn't hurt me. I had elephant's skin, until it came down to the personal things, and lucky for me, he didn't know squat.
I liked the illusion of him too. I couldn't feel for him the way I did feel for Cameron and Nadine. I knew more about them than I intended and how unfortunate it was that flaws and all, I loved them.
