Difficult case

Could you do like Ally waiting at home for Jay getting a text off Voight saying the case was difficult and I'm keeping Jay back until he's ready to drive and when he does come home, he's in pieces and starts crying again but it's from the difficult case and almost shooting Hailey

Ally pov
I was making dinner when I realised the time. Jay should've been back 2 hours ago. I kept ringing his phone and it was going to voicemail. The case must be taking longer that we thought. If Jay was hurt I would've been told by now so they must still be dealing with the case. I plated up Jays dinner and put it in the microwave. As I was washing up my phone pinged.

Hank
We had a difficult case so I'm keeping Jay with me until he has calmed down. He's in a right state and I didn't want him to hurt anybody.

Bad. He's in a proper state I'm just trying to calm him down

Hank pov
Hank: Jay come on. You need to stop being so hard on yourself.
Jay: I could've killed her pops
Hank: but you didn't
Jay: I was so close to pulling the trigger. We can't be partners anymore. I don't trust myself.
Hank: we had a tough case and it was even harder for you
He just broke down crying again. I held him.
Hank: I got you kiddo
Jay: pops I wanna go home
Hank: let's calm down first
After about 20 minutes he calmed down and I drove him home. Jay sat on the couch zoned out but his hands were shaking
Ally: he looks terrified. What the hell happened?
Hank: the case involved a soldier from the army. He was in Jays unit and although they both survived the ambush, the soldier was selling military firearms to gangs. He trapped Jay in a warehouse and handcuffed him to a radiator and made him watch the ambush. We found him but he wasn't in a good way
Ally: shit
Hank: Jay had a PTSD episode and we couldn't get him to snap out of it. Hailey didn't realise and put her hand on his shoulder. Jay snapped around and held a gun to Haileys head. When he came back around he dropped the gun to the floor

The incident
Adam and Kev went undercover trying to buy these military firearms. The operation went south and Jay got taken
Hank: where's Halstead?
Adam: we didn't see him inside
Kev: we though he was outside
Hank: shit
We went back to the district and looked through any near by cameras. There were a few visuals on the car that Jay was in. We put a BOLO on the car and after a couple hours we had a hit. It was some warehouse downtown. We headed to the location and the suspect was long gone. We searched the building and we could hear something
Adam: it sounds like it's coming from over here
We went to the back room and Jay was heavily beaten and his right hand was cuffed to a pipe standing. Infront of him was a screen playing an Army scene. There was loads of gunshots, screams and blood. Jays eyes were glazed over and I could tell he was having a PTSD episode. He was mumbling incoherent words. He had a gun in his left hand and was holding it to his head. I stood infront of him. I undone the handcuffs but didn't touch him.
Hank: Jay kiddo it's pops. You're okay. You're in Chicago. It's not real
He was still far away. Hailey put her hand on his shoulder and in a quick movement Hailey had a gun to her head.
Hank: Jay come on kiddo. You're okay. You're safe.
His hands were shaking but he had a tight grip on the gun
Jay: we need to get the hell out of here. We're outnumbered.
Jay flinched
Jay: Danny come on. You're okay. No im not gonna let you die okay. You have to stay with me. Zach you hold on okay. You have a kid on the way you can't miss that
Tears were flowing down his face but he was deep into the flashback

Jay pov
There was a huge explosion and my whole unit got hit.
Jay: hey is everyone okay?
Mouse: Jay we need to go
Jay: I can't leave them all here
Mouse: they're dead Jay
Jay: no they can't be
Mouse: Jay we need to go now!
Jay: my head is pounding
Everything was going blurry.
Jay: I'm tired Mouse
Mouse: nope don't leave me damnit
Everything went black. I opened my eyes and there was a bright light.
Jay: m what going on?
??: I'm Dr Frank. You've been medically discharged from this tour. You're gonna fly back tonight where you will be observed at the hospital there.
Jay: where is everyone?
Dr Frank: it was only you and another soldier who survived the ambush. Everyone else died
Jay: what? Where's mouse?
Mouse: I'm here Halstead
Jay: what happened?
Mouse: there was an explosion.
Jay: we're going home?
Mouse: yeah
Jay: where's Tommy? Did he make it?
He just looked at me.
Jay: Fuck!
The whole tour just replayed in my head.

Hank pov
Hank: Jay kiddo it's pops. I need you to come back to me bud.
He was breathing really fast.
Jay: No No No
Hank: Jay this is Hank, your dad. You are in Chicago. It's just me and you and nothing bad is happening to you right now. You're safe with me
Jay: Mouse
Hank: Jay can you hear me?
After a few minutes he nodded
Hank: I need you to focus on my voice okay. Can you look around the room and tell me what you see?
Jay: enemy. I'm holding a gun to his head
Hank: close your eyes then open them again.
He done what I said
Hank: Jay what can you see? Who's infront of you?
He soon realised. He dropped the gun
Jay: I'm I'm I'm sorry.
Hailey: it's okay
Jay: I had my hand on the trigger. I could've killed you
Hank: everyone head back to the district
Everyone left leaving me and Jay.
Jay: I thought I was back there
Hank: I know kiddo. let's get you home

Present
Ally pov
I sat beside Jay and he put his head on my lap. I ran my fingers through his hair.
Hank: I'm gonna head off now. I'll talk to you later Jay okay
Jay: mhm
Hank: let me know if anything happens
Ally: of course
Hank left and Jay was just zoned out.
Ally: you okay?
Jay: mhm
Ally: Jay
Jay: I could've killed her. My finger was on the trigger
Ally: it's not your fault. She knows she should touch you whilst you're in an episode. You hungry?
Jay: a little
Ally: it's chicken and rice
Jay: thank you
We went to the kitchen and I reheated our plates in the microwave and we sat down to eat. After we ate I put the dishes in the washer and we went up to bed.

Jay pov
We got ready for bed and I waited for Ally to fall asleep before I got my pillow and slept in the guest bedroom. This way if I have a nightmare she wouldn't get hurt
