Worth It

The skies fall and the ground trembles, indicating the end of an era.

The world may be ending, that much is true, but perhaps, even if we're all lost to time, it could be worth it.

We as a species, as a society, have been through the unimaginable.

Through pain, through sorrow, through joy, through life and its endless possibilities, and through death and its permanency.

Even if the stars burn out, the skies go permanently dark, and our memory is forever lost, maybe, just maybe, it was all worth it.

Maybe it was worth the pain that we faced, the losses that we faced, the despair that we felt.

Maybe it was worth it for the wins we took, the freedom we earned, for the life that we lived.

Maybe all we went through was worth it for the memories we made with each other, the happiness we made with each other.

And as we sink into an endless sleep, the memories fading along with our souls, maybe, just maybe, it would have all been worth it.
