I Choose

SO THIS IS A REWRITE OF WHAT I THINK SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THIS SCENE IN TBT. I REALLY WISH WE GOT A SONG DURING THIS MOMENT WITH POPPY AND BRANCH.  SORRY IT'S SUPER SHORT.

"Branch?"

"Branch!"

'Branch, wait!" Poppy yelled her boyfriend's name as she tried to keep up with him.

He then stopped in his tracks, turning around to Poppy.

"Branch, where are you going?" Poppy asked.

"To save Floyd...alone."

"Let me help you."

"No."

"Then let your brothers help. That why they're here."

"No, Poppy, you don't understand...they left me when I was young. I didn't need them growing and I don't need them now."

"So let me help you."

"No Poppy, it could be dangerous. I need you here where it's safe."

"It's dangerous." Poppy mocked him. "Branch, we both know that didn't stop me from saving the Snack Pack from Chef or going after Barb to stop her from taking over the world. I want to help."

"Why, so you can leave me like my brothers? Everyone else does..." Branch's words crushed Poppy's heart. Branch started walking again, leaving Poppy. She ran up to him and grabbed his hand. Branch swatted her hand away and kept going.

Poppy sighed, knowing Branch wouldn't listen to her words. But maybe, the lyrics. Poppy had an idea 💡

As Branch got farther from Poppy, he heard her singing from a distance. Branch turns around and sees Poppy walking towards him.

Through the lows and the highs I will stay by your side

Poppy grabbed Branch's hand. "I have been by your side from the moment we met. And you been by mine. Let's give each other some credit here."

"You're right..I'm sorry. Thank you."

"For what?"

"For always staying by my side. No matter what."

"You're welcome. And I'm not going anywhere unless it's with you...to save Floyd." Broppy hugs and Branch kisses Poppy on the cheek.

"I really hate how persistent you can be sometimes. The amount of trouble we end up in afterwards." Branch joked.

"Well, there's no other person I rather get in trouble with." Poppy smiled.

Branch chuckles. A bike bell rings in the distance. Poppy and Branch turned around and see Tiny Diamond riding towards them.

"Tiny! You're coming too?" Poppy exclaims.

"Hey what can I say? I was moved by Branch's speech and his sad, sad drawing. Now let's roll!" Poppy and Branch hop and Tiny's bike and started their trip to Mount Rageous.

Poppy could tell Branch he was worried from his facial expression, so she squeezed his hand, letting him know, that they will find Floyd soon. Branch mouthed "thank you" to Poppy. She nodded and relaxed her head on Branch's shoulder.
