Harry's POV

Harry Potter woke up to the gentle sounds of birds singing outside his window. The morning light streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow on his small bed. He sat up, rubbing his eyes and looking around the room that had become so familiar over the past few months.

Sev’us had already left the room, and Harry knew he would be in the kitchen making breakfast. The thought made him smile. Sev’us always made the best breakfasts, with warm porridge and sometimes even special treats like pancakes.

Harry climbed out of bed and padded into the kitchen, his tiny feet making soft pattering sounds on the stone floor. He found Sev’us at the stove, stirring a pot with practiced ease. When Snape turned and saw him, a rare but genuine smile touched his lips.

"Good morning, Harry," Snape said, his voice soft. "Did you sleep well?"

Harry nodded eagerly, climbing into his chair at the table. "Mornin', Sev’us! What’re we havin’?"

"Your favorite," Snape replied, placing a bowl of porridge in front of him. "Eat up, and then we can go outside. It's a beautiful day."

Harry dug into his breakfast with gusto, savoring each bite. As he ate, he glanced at Sev’us, who was now busying himself with a cup of tea. Harry loved these mornings. They were quiet and peaceful, a stark contrast to the life he barely remembered.

After breakfast, Sev’us helped Harry into his outdoor clothes, and they ventured into the grounds of Hogwarts. The autumn air was crisp and filled with the scent of fallen leaves. Harry loved exploring the grounds, especially the Forbidden Forest, though Sev’us never let him get too close.

Today, they walked to a small, secluded garden that Sev’us had shown him. It was a magical place, filled with flowers that changed colors and small creatures that scurried about. Harry's eyes widened with wonder as he chased a butterfly, giggling when it landed on his nose.

Sev’us watched him with a fond expression, his stern demeanor softening in the presence of the child. Harry looked back at him, his heart swelling with affection for the man who had become his protector and friend.

As the afternoon sun began to dip, casting long shadows across the garden, Harry spotted a familiar figure approaching. It was Moony, his face lighting up when he saw Harry.

"Hello there, Harry!" Remus Lupin called out, his warm smile reaching his eyes.

"Moony!" Harry ran to him, throwing his arms around Remus's legs. Remus lifted him up with ease, settling Harry on his hip as he walked toward Snape.

"Good afternoon, Severus," Remus greeted, his voice gentle.

"Remus," Snape replied with a nod, his expression guarded but not unkind.

Harry watched them closely, sensing something in the air between the two men. He didn't understand it, but it felt like the warmth of the sun breaking through clouds on a cold day. There was a connection there, something that made Harry feel safe and happy.

As the weeks went by, Harry began to notice more of these moments between Sev’us and Moony. They were subtle, like the way Moony’s eyes would linger on Sev’us a little longer than necessary, or how Sev’us would soften his tone when speaking to Moony. Harry didn't fully understand it, but it made him feel warm and secure.

One evening, after Moony had stayed for dinner, Harry was tucked into bed by Sev’us. He felt a rush of contentment as he snuggled under the blankets, his eyes growing heavy with sleep.

"Sev’us?" Harry whispered, looking up at the man who stood beside his bed.

"Yes, Harry?" Snape replied, his voice low and soothing.

"Are you happy?"

The question seemed to take Snape by surprise. He paused, his dark eyes softening as he looked at the small boy. "Yes, Harry. I am."

Harry smiled, feeling a sense of peace wash over him. "Me too, Sev’us. Me too."

As Harry drifted off to sleep, he dreamt of a warm and happy future. In his dreams, Sev’us and Moony were always there, watching over him, protecting him. He felt loved and safe, surrounded by the warmth of their care.

And in the quiet of the night, as the candles flickered and the castle settled into a peaceful slumber, Severus Snape and Remus Lupin shared a silent understanding. It was a slow burn, a gentle unfolding of something deep and meaningful. Together, they would ensure that Harry had the love and stability he deserved.
