I won't be blinded by the light

Chapter 6

All the students are whispering together but they stop to stare at Rain when he walks into class Monday morning. Rain braces himself; he told himself that he would hold his head up high and ignore the people talking about him. He had done it before, in Korea.

He sees Sky in the front of the room, and heads in that direction. At least now he has real friends to turn to, he doesn't have to face it alone.

"You're Rain right?" One of the girls from the whispering group asks.

Rain stiffens at this, but nods.

"Rain, I just wanted to let you know that I support you. That guy is like my older sister's ex, always spreading false rumors about her until she ended up moving schools. I can't stand people like that." She says. The rest of the group nods.

Just then a group of juniors stick their head in the room, and when they see class hasn't started yet, one of the girls runs up to Rain and hands him a snack bag. "P'Rain, thank you for helping us freshmen, keep fighting." She says then sprints from the room. That happens a few more times until Rain is laden down with snacks and his favorite drinks.

"I think you have a fan club," Sky says.

"Sky, what's going on?" Rain asks with wide eyes.

"I don't know either." Sky says.

Ple comes up behind him and says, "I think everyone has seen the video.

"Video?" Rain asks.

She pulls out her phone and shows him a video. He immediately recognizes Yun-Seo, although his customary smirk has been replaced by a serious expression and he seems very pale for some reason.

"Everyone, my name is Jin Yun-Seo, and I am an architecture student in Korea. I am making this video today to apologize to someone. Rain, I am sorry I lied about you. You never did anything of the things I said you did in front of your friends. I was only being malicious because you wouldn't sleep with me. I am a pathetic excuse for a human being that lies to hurt others. You are a hundred times too good for me." He finishes by looking up from the camera as if someone is standing there. Then he reaches and turns it off.

"Why would he do that, Sky? His reputation will be ruined in Thailand and Korea both." Rain is bewildered at this turn of events, although he is happy that people know the truth now.

"Maybe his conscious bothered him." Sky suggests. He has a sneaking suspicion this has to do with the business deal that Yun-Seo's father was making with P'Pai's company.

By the time Rain gets out of his afternoon class, he sees he has a text from P'Phayu.

Handsome senior: Sorry I had to cancel our tutoring session yesterday, I had some business to take care of. I'm getting off early tonight if you want to come by the garage. We can reschedule for tonight.

Rain: I would love that. I have something to tell you anyway. I just got out of class; I'll go there now.

Handsome senior: I will meet you there, I'll pick up food on my way so we don't have to worry about dinner.

Rain sends him a thumbs up emoji and packs his bag. "I'm going to the garage, P'Phayu is going to tutor me tonight." He tells Sky. Sky shakes his head as he excitedly dashes from the room.

"Oh, smiling down at your phone like that. Do you want to make everyone fall in love with you?" P'Mhok says as he brings Phayu the last of the files he needs tomorrow for the new client they are taking on.

"I only care about one person falling in love, and I actually think they may be." Phayu says, grabbing his bag and sticking his phone and laptop in it. He grabs his drafting tube and heads for the door.
