Chapter 2: Mischief (Oliver's P.O.V)

It's hot as balls out here in this summer weather, I just graduated, hallelujah, and I'm packing everything up for college. I am going to the university of my of dreams, Stanford. My girlfriend of the week or maybe two, I'm not sure yet, is helping me pack. She likes to do stuff for me or whatever, I don't really care, but it means less work for me.
"Hey babe, can you drive me to Hot Topic, I want to apply for a job there."
"Why...there? That's so random."
"Well why not, it's just a summer job and I like it. It's a cool store, plus when I go, the employees seem so nice!" Her brown eyes glimmered a little too much.
"Okay whatever." She smiled all big and thanked me by giving me a peck on the cheek. I finished up the rest of the packing for today while she was in the shower getting ready for putting in an application. I don't understand why it's just Hot Topic for crying out loud, I hope she doesn't expect me to come in with her. I looked at the clock on the side of my bunk bed that I used to share with my older brother and I looked up Hot Topic on google to see what time they close.
"Winnie! You need to hurry up if you want to get to Hot Topic on time, they close in 10 minutes." I shouted from outside the bathroom door receiving a gargled okay. I grab my keys, and wait for her by the front door. She finally walks out in literally all pink. Which there's nothing wrong with that I guess but definitely not the ideal aesthetic of Hot Topic.
"That's what you're wearing? Don't you think it's a little over the top?" Her pastel pink dress, with frilly white socks really yells professional. She squints her eyes and looks at me with her hands on her small hips.
"Yes, in fact it is what I'm wearing. It's not over the top, it's actually less than what I was originally going to wear but I had no time." Her thin lips pierced out in a pout and her damp wavy bleached hair sat sadly on her small lightly tanned shoulders. "Can we go now?"
"Yeah, come on." We walk to the car in the driveway and I start it up. "You know, I'm not going in with you right?" She slowly looks at me with her dull eyes and rolls them.
"I didn't ask you to, nor did I want you to anyway. They close in 5 minutes can we please go now?" I don't respond mainly because I don't care, and I pull out of the driveway.

(In the Parking Lot of the Mall)

"Bye! I'll be back soon and thanks babe!" She closes the car door and I roll the windows down while I wait for her. I know she just left but I feel like I have been waiting here forever. At least I won't have to deal with this next week. I'm pretty sure she'll get turned down, this is her first job ever and that's what she wore. I laughed at the thought.
Some time passed and I looked out the window to see her big smile again speed walking over here. I'm assuming she actually got the job which alright then. Great, I guess I do have to deal with this for a little bit.
"Guess whaaaaaaaat!" She says as she walks up to the passenger door.
"What?" Acting like I'm interested.
"I got the job! I start tomorrow actually, this really sweet girl, Penelope, is going to train me!" Penelope? I start to smile slyly, Penelope Adams, how cute. My ex lab partner for Chemistry, she got a summer job at Hot Topic too huh. God she was a pain in my ass, always telling me what I did wrong, getting mad at me when I stopped caring. Such a know it all.
"Hm, cool." She was always so cute when she was pissed, the way her brunette hair was always neatly done and how smart she was. She never liked me, she thought I was a low life, destined for garbage. Her words not mine, I know I'm perfect. She even turned me down for prom, in front of everyone, that bitch. She made me look so stupid. "Do you need me to drop you off tomorrow, if so what time?"
"I need to be there by 7:30 a.m, so yes please that would be wonderful baby, thank you." Seven...in the morning. Are you actually kidding me right now, it's summer. I can't wait to break up with her.
"Alright." For now, however, I'm going to bother the living shit out of Adams, just you wait and see...
