"Ruii!" Tsukasa called, running up to him. " I found you!!" he said, panting slightly.
Rui was at the rooftop of the school, sitting on the ledge. He looked over to his friend and smiled warmly. "Ah.. tsukasa-kun, hello there."
"I didn't expect you to be up here today! aha, finally!" tsukasa kneeled, sitting next to Rui. "those stairs.. oh my gosh.." he spoke, still catching his breath.

Rui simply chuckled before gently ruffling Tsukasa's hair "fufu~.. you could do with more exercise you know! You really do exhaust yourself easily, you big baby.."
"oh shut up! and,,, don't call me that..!" Tsukasa blushed, clearly embarrassed, as he looked away and at the floor.

Rui smirked in amusement, poking Tsukasa's cheek. "Look at that reaction, you really are a big baby."

"agh, you shut up!" tsukasa chuckled at his touch.

Rui's smirk grew, ruffling Tsukasa's hair more before speaking up. "Yknow, this is the reason why I call you a big baby. You just can't help but react so childish to my riling, Tsukasa-kun."

"okay, okay! jeez.." tsukasa grumbled as Rui laughed.

"now.. I need to ask you something about the upcoming project! a genius like you should know."

Rui smiled at the comment about him being a genius before responding with a nonchalant shrug. "I'm sure I would know something about it. Ask me your questions"

"okay, so..."

tsukasa and rui discussed the project for the next few minutes.. they heard the next bell ring, signaling lunch is over.

"agh, that must mean lunch is over... are you skipping class again?" Tsukasa asked.

Rui chuckled, nodding slightly.
"Yup, not like I feel like going to class anyway. Plus, class is so boring!"

"I'm so confused how your grades are better than mine.." the boy sighed, packing his stuff and he stood up.

"Well, that's because i'm smarter than you. It's that simple." Rui smirked, getting up as he watched tsukasa leave.

Tsukasa rolled his eyes. "Definitelyyyy. ..but, I have to go. See you, Rui!" tsukasa beamed, walking towards the door and closing it after Rui said bye.         

    "Goodbye tsukasa-kun!"

The day was over, finally. Tsukasa gripped his backpack angrily, classes were a handful for him today.

"errgghh!! out of all people, why did I get partnered with her? I hate that stupid bit—" he cut himself off as he noticed the familiar purple haired boy in the distance. tsukasa smiled, increasing his walking pace, but he stopped suddenly. a short, long haired girl standing by Rui's side.

Ai.

Standing next to Rui with that repetitive giggle, Tsukasa's stomach dropped. he started feeling so many emotions at once. Why? it doesn't make sense.. it's just a crush, not a relationship..

He noticed Rui's same grin he found beautiful, and Ai's smile.. that smile, it will always be better then his. right? because that's what Rui clearly thinks.

"Rui.." tsukasa mumbled, biting his lip as tears swelled lightly, he looked down.

"AGGHHHHH—"
a kid ran into tsukasa, sending him crashing down into the floor, a strong face plant. the SMACK made everyone turn around, including Rui.

His eyes widened, turning around almost instantly once he heard that yell, noticing his friend on the floor. He immediately ran over, kneeling down to Tsukasa.

"Tsukasa-kun! are you okay!?" he asked, panicked, placing a hand on his back.
"OWWGAAHHHHHGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHGWWWUUIIIIAAAGGHHHHHHHH! MY HEADDFDDGGHUH!!" tsukasa yelled so incredibly loud, lying on the floor, looking like a dead body.

the boy knocked into tsukasa ran to his side too, and so did some other teachers.

"Man, shoot! i'm so sorry!" the kid said.

the nurse ran out with a few bandages, and a bottle of water.

"you two, back away from the boy." A teacher demanded, walking up to them, the boys following as told. the kid who hurt tsukasa, he ran away. what a jerk.

   "is tsukasa-kun gonna be okay..?" rui mumbled.

they leaned Tsukasa against a tree, patching his wound on his forehead. Rui stepped closer, joining the teachers around tsukasa.

"are you okay to walk?" the nurse asked, helping tsukasa up.

"mmgghhhffjjjjhhh...yeahhhhh..." Tsukasa groaned, but still sat up.

  "tsukasa-kun!" Rui called, getting closer to him.

"Rui..." he sighed, looking away.

"eh..? what's wrong, tsukasa-kun?" he noticed Tsukasa's tone, feeling a bit worried.

tsukasa frowned.

"i'm fine.." he clenched his fist, looking down, anywhere but Rui's eyes.

Rui responded quickly, placing an arm on tsukasa. "Are you sure? I mean you ju-"

"I said i'm fine!" he smacked Rui's hand away, gathering his speed as he started to walk away.

"it's not like you care anyways.." he mumbled.

"hey—wait..!" rui stood there, his arm still mid air, a hand placed on his own chest.

As soon as Tsukasa got home, he ran to his room, plopping down onto his bed.
He didn't let his mom see him, or even saki.

it's unusual, since he always greets them both. he couldn't talk to anyone right now, though. especially.. him.

"Rui ♥︎" Seen: 13 hours ago."
holding down on Rui's contact, he slid his finger down to the "silence notifications 🔕" button. he clicked it, additionally putting his phone on do not disturb. he closed his eyes, trying to get rest.
