Jeongguk mentally patted himself on the back for not dragging Park Jimin by his ankles and swinging him out of his front door. It was an impossibly difficult temptation that wormed its way into Jeongguk's mind, but his superego did manage to reel himself back in from his desires (albeit reluctantly); the footballer wasn't immature enough to let his own wants get the best of the situation. Because as much as he wanted to, he did realise the repercussions that may arise if he did, in fact, drag said male out onto his hallway.

Number one: Jimin may get ambushed when he reaches the mob outside again and get more injured which would involve a lot more ruckus than he would like. The entire street would probably be swarmed when word got out that the Park Jimin was in the grips of the hungry lions that were his fans. His apartment building would then become the eighth wonder of the world, and he'd never see the light of day again.

Number two: Someone might catch sight of Jeongguk dragging the idol out, and may spread it around. This would involve Jeongguk in unnecessary dating scandals and rumours that would probably result in his name being in someone crazy fans' death note. He would be haunted for the rest of his life.

Number three: Jimin had already rung up his managers, asking them what to do, all of them telling him to remain where he was as it was safe. Perfect, thought Jeongguk, as it clearly wasn't safe enough even with the protection of the starboy's company to leave the building. What kind of shitty, incapable management did this guy deal with?

Honestly, Jeongguk could think of countless reasons why his initial desire would not benefit him in the slightest. So what if he had to deal with a pesky brat for a couple more hours until the crowd died down? He could do that- be the bigger person. He was a mature, twenty-two year old man who could put up with another not so mature, annoying, mouthy, twenty-two year old excuse of a man.

So, when the nation's it-boy asked:

"Would you mind if I stayed for a while?"

Jeongguk's ears definitely did not turn red when Park Jimin looked up at him with the widest, crescent-eyed smile after he accepted.

(They did.)

Warm water cascaded down the bare expanse of Jeongguk's tan, sinewy back in the steamy capsule of the shower. He pushed his hair back and out of his face, tilting his head up so that the pressure of the water massaged his scalp, exhaling in satisfaction. The shower felt long overdue- the events of today leaving him in a state of disbelief, confusion, and denial. He quickly pushed those thoughts out of his mind, however, wanting to return to his regular routine more than anything else.
