john b parked the bus in front of kie's family's restaurant, the wreck. "pope, can you go get her?"

"we could get tattoos of wads of fucking cash." sav blurted, thinking out loud.

"none of us are getting a tattoo," savannah went to interrupt, but john b cut her off. "after your stupid tramp stamp."

"so, should i not have gotten this?" savannah asked, pulling the side of her little shorts down to reveal a tiny intricately designed angel on her lower hip.

"fuck," jj murmured to himself, feeling his breathing quicken at the sight. "sb, when did you get that?"

savannah shrugged her shoulders. "i dunno, beginning of the summer, maybe?"

"sav, you should really think these things through more," john b scolded.

"i did. it's for my mom."

the two boys sucked in a breath. savannah rarely mentioned her mother, and all the pogues knew better than to bring it up. it was a rough subject for the girl, which didn't surprise anyone. she'd been ten years-old when her mom ran off. she was never mad at her mom for leaving her behind, she loved her too much to consider it.

"she says she's not coming," pope called out to the three, not noticing the tense atmosphere.

"fuck," john b cursed, getting out of the car.

"oh, johnny b," savannah tsked, "what did you do."

"hang on, i'll deal with it," john b told them as he entered the restaurant.

savannah looked at jj. "ten bucks says he kissed her."

"i'll take that bet."

kie and john b emerged from the wreck, climbing into the bus as the group sped off to their next adventure.

"hey, guys," jj called out. jj and savannah were sitting besides one another, backs leaning against the side of the van as jj used his right hand to trace out different words on savannah's knee. "do you mind if i relax on this one? it's been a long day and a lot of weird stuff's gone down. i think i'm just gonna law low."

jj looked at pope who had a serious expression on his face and offered him a hit on his blunt.

"more for me!" savannah grinned, snatching the joint from jj's said and bringing it to her lips.

"i keep the signal clear," pope stated.

"do you understand that your problem is that you don't get creative?" jj told the boy.

savannah swatted the blonde's arm. "pope's plenty creative! he's interested in dead bodies for fucks sake, if that's not unique and, uh, creative? then i don't know what is!" pope smiled appreciatively at the girl. "what jj's trying to say is that you're always so wrapped up in trying to keep everyone safe and focus on your future that sometimes, you just need to let loose." savannah smiled before offering him jj's blunt one more time, but pope still shook his head.

"look, i know i was wrong about the lighthouse, alright?" john b said.

"no one said anything," savannah pointed out, confused.

john b grinned at her sarcastically through the rearview mirror. "and wrong about everything else going on, but i was right about one thing, okay? my dad is trying to tell me something."

"you've got to be fucking with me," savannah groaned when she noticed they were parked in front of a cemetery.

"if that's what you want," jj said from behind her, causing the brunette to jump in surprise.
