Vivienne's POVI have been standing here for a while now, and I could barely feel my body. But now was not the time to complain as my mind had different things to process.
"My turn," Nerissa said as her eyes glowed red. This time, she was the one who flew towards Eli, her Bident piercing through Eli's shirt. Her swift movements weren't all predictable, yet Eli was able to avoid the majority of the hits. She danced through the battle, wielding the Bident with no effort.
As the Lycans and Golems clashed in the field, the clouds in the sky began to swirl above us. Thunder roared across as the lightning struck the ground where the Golems were. Gen turned to the trees and pointed at one. "Capio," she said with glowing eyes.
The branches of the trees grew, moving at a swift pace. It grew until it was long enough to encapsulate the figure that was hiding among the trees. It continued to move until it began to squeeze him tighter. The man screamed in pain. I could only watch in horror as the branches that were once harmless was now capable of inflicting such harm.
The scream caught Nerissa's attention and she halted. She turned to the direction it was coming from, searching among the trees. "Perseus!" She exclaimed with rage. Eli took this distraction as an opportunity and pointed at her.
"Lightyears, Percutio!"
In the blink of an eye, a bright light hit Nerissa, throwing her across the field. She screeched as if she had been hit a thousand times.
Gen flicked her finger and the trees immediately threw the man towards Nerissa. Crawling on the ground, Nerissa approached Perseus and knelt beside him. "That hurt, you little twat!" He managed to scream at Gen.
Eli's brows furrowed and pointed at him, "Ray of Light, Caecus!"
And just like Eli casted, the clouds began to part and a ray of light shone from the skies, blinding him.
Is this what you want?
The voice was back. But this time, I wasn't scared. I began to feel annoyed. The exhaustion was already weighing on me and I had waited long enough for this to end.
To see such destruction, such chaos...
Things could have gone differently, young one.
"Don't you ever talk to my sister that way," I heard Eli shout. Perseus cried in agony – the kind of scream that made my ears ring. Nerissa raised her head to meet Eli's eyes and her eyes lit up in anger. "Force of darkness, heed me, protect!" she cast, swiftly running her hand across the air. A black cloak appeared, floating towards them. It formed a barrier of red between us.
I attempted to move a muscle, trying to break free from whatever was stopping me from moving. But to no success.
From the corner of my eye, a man suddenly jumped into the air from the barn beside the field. I could feel his fiery eyes rest upon me. As he touched the ground, he began to run towards Nerissa. He was running too fast I couldn't keep my eyes on him. Yet, when our eyes met, my heart dropped in fear.
"Sleep." I read his mouth as he whispered to his daggers. He then threw it towards my way. Instinctively, I tried to duck. Physically, it was impossible.
My pendant immediately glowed brighter and the dome thickened. The dagger was not able to penetrate the force field.
As I looked into Nerissa's cold eyes, she scowled. Victor finally reached the rest of them and he clenched his fist. "That's not possible," he said. "It was an object, not a spell."
Nerissa grimaced. "Even Victor couldn't penetrate it."
I heard Eli laugh and his spear dissolved into gold dust. But the force that petrified me only continued to tighten. I needed to break free at some point. Otherwise, I might pass out.
You don't want this, do you young one? The voice said again.
Feel it, feel your rage. Your nature calls for you.
"No," my thoughts instinctively said.
Yes...
Suddenly, I heard a different voice... A female one,
a calmer one,
a voice that soothes you. I closed my eyes.
Allow me, my dear. Accept me.
And I did....☽◯☾
4:18 PMI felt my blood boil as a surge of energy washed through me, all coldness precipitated. The force that held me immobile immediately loosened. "Enough!" I shouted, fully breaking the petrifying spell cast upon me. I broke free from the trance, letting my blood flow through my veins.
The creatures turned into ashes and dropped to the ground. Everyone froze and turned to me, stunned... afraid.
"How..." Victor gasped.
My eyes met Nerissa, who was unsure whether she was thrilled or afraid. "You did it..." She said, a wicked smile slowly forming on her face. "You accepted her." My eyes threw her a cold, hard stare.
"Viv?" Eli cautiously asked as he slowly took a step towards me. But my eyes never left the triad.
Suddenly, my pendant glowed, blinding everyone with its bright light. I closed my eyes and felt it. I felt it calling for me.
Vivienne... Luna calls for you.
And in a second, I opened my eyes. It glowed purple. Everyone took a step back in fear.
"It's her," Nerissa smirked.
"Eli..." Gen whispered, slowly backing up. "It's okay, Gen," Eli replied. Their eyes glowed – Eli's, gold; and Gen's, green – as they cautiously prepare for what might occur.
I immediately felt enraged by the sight of Nerissa's smirk. The blow of the breeze increased, leaving everything around us flying in the air.
Yes, young one. Feel it. Feel your power.
My palms ignited as I extended my arms and pointed at the traid. Flames of purple immediately sparked, entrapping them. I let my anger consume me as I let the fire draw nearer towards them. The panic in their eyes satisfied me.
In a flick of my fingers, a force encapsulated Nerissa, halting her breath. I raised her into the air as she begged for it. "How does it feel?" I asked grimly. Victor backed away and with glowing maroon eyes, tried to bend my blood. I turned to his direction and met his gaze.
"Viv, enough!" Eli exclaimed but I didn't listen. I stared into Victor's eyes and suddenly, he fell to the ground unconscious.
Yes, do it. A wicked laugh echoed in my ears. Kill them. Kill them all.
The wind blew harder as the clouds above began to darken. It swirled around until it declined to the ground. The eerie tornado touched the field, ruining everything in its path. Eli dropped to the ground, holding on for his life.
Vivienne Alarie! The female voice boomed. I command you to stop!
"Gen!" I heard Eli shout behind me.
I jumped as I felt Gen's soft hands on my skin, making me regain my senses. Nerissa fell to the ground unconscious as I turned to Gen's direction.
"Somnum et oblivisci," she whispered to me.
And before I knew it, I saw nothing.☽◯☾

Genevieve's POVI hated it.
I hated how I had to erase her memories every time her true nature crawls back to her.
My sister was just misunderstood. Her powers were just misunderstood...
But I had to. I'm told to do so. Otherwise, she might hurt me too.
Eli grabbed my hands as he threw the unconscious Viv on his shoulders. The Walkers were lying on the ground, unconscious, giving us more time to escape.
We ran out of the scene as swiftly as we could, wasting no time. But no matter how much I tried to catch up, I couldn't run as fast as Eli. I slowed down. "Eli!" I called out. "I can't..."
Before I could finish my sentence, he grabbed my waist and carried me, too. "Sorry, Gen. We need to go."
Startled, I clung to him as he ran. And out on the road, a woman appeared. "Adeline!" Eli shouted as he slowed down.
"They found you?" The real Addie asked, sounding troubled. Eli nodded as he put me down. "They are still out there, but we need to bring the kids to safety."
"Alright." Addie nodded and motioned for another woman who was running towards us. Eli placed Viv on the ground in front of her as she waved her hands in the air, a mist forming around us. "Wayward?" I asked. She nodded with a smile. "The name's Annika."
I smiled back and said, "Genevieve."
As the mist began to encapsulate us, I spotted Nerissa and Victor running in our direction. Nerissa casted a spell on Victor's daggers and it engulfed in flames. My eyes widened. "Eli..."
Nerissa twirled around and knelt, her movements summoning a purple force that pushed Victor from the ground. He glided in the air and before we knew it, flaming daggers were sent flying towards us.
My knowledge of my powers was limited, yet I mirrored her movements in attempts of casting a spell that could help us. "Obisce!" I exclaimed, remembering her magic from earlier.
The ground sprung, forming a barrier. And just in time, it blocked the daggers.
"Nice, Gen," Addie said with an amused look. "I guess you're my favorite Alarie now."
"Hey!" Eli frowned and turned to Annika. "You know what to do," he said.
As Annika continued to strengthen the mist, Gungnir once again reappeared in the hands of my brother. "I'll hold them off."
"Addie, now!" Annika exclaimed. I placed my fingers on the mist and to my surprise, it was rock solid. "Fascinating..." I whispered. Adeline took a deep breath and blew, blowing us away from the scene.
"Addie's a weaver?" I asked while I watched my brother's and his girlfriend's magic collide with the Walkers'. Annika nodded while her hands rested on Vivienne's chest. "A damn strong one, if you ask me."
I held Viv's hands as we glided home.
