A Promise of Peace
Ten years ago, Kim stood by the crib, gently cradling Venice while holding Leiah close. The soft hum of the nursery filled the room as Kim tried to soothe his children to sleep. Venice, only a year old, was slowly drifting off, while Leiah, just a few months older, was already fast asleep in his arms.
Kim glanced over at the doorway, where Vegas stood with a suitcase in hand. He had to leave for an important meeting abroad, a business opportunity that could change their lives forever. Kim’s heart ached at the thought of being apart from him, but he knew how crucial this deal was for their future.
Vegas stepped into the room, his eyes filled with love and determination. "Kim, this is it. If I can secure this deal, everything changes for us. No more living in the shadows, no more violence. We can give Venice and Leiah the peaceful life they deserve."
Kim nodded, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "I know, Vegas. It's just...I hate the thought of you being so far away. I need you here with us."
Vegas walked over to Kim, gently taking Leiah from his arms and placing a tender kiss on her forehead. "I promise, it won't be long. Just three months, and I'll be back. And when I return, we'll build the life we've always dreamed of. No more guns, no more fear. Just us, together, as a family."
Kim leaned into Vegas, their foreheads touching. "I believe in you. I just...miss you already."
Vegas cupped Kim's face, his thumb brushing away a tear that escaped. "I miss you too. But this is for us, for our children. We can finally be free."
Kim took a deep breath, finding strength in Vegas’s words. "Okay. We'll be here, waiting for you. Just come back to us safely."
Vegas smiled, a mixture of determination and love in his eyes. "I will. I promise."
With one last kiss, Vegas reluctantly left the nursery, heading to the car that would take him to the airport. Kim watched him go, his heart heavy yet hopeful. He knew that this opportunity was the key to their future, the chance to leave behind a life of danger and build something beautiful for their children.
As the weeks passed, Kim threw himself into caring for Venice and Leiah, finding solace in their innocent smiles and laughter. Each day was a step closer to the promise of a peaceful life, and he clung to that hope with everything he had.
Every night, Kim would sit by the window, looking out at the stars, whispering his hopes and fears into the night. He would hold Venice and Leiah close, telling them stories of the wonderful life they would have once their father returned.
"dada will be back soon," he would say softly. "And when he does, we'll be together, happy and safe."
.
Two months had passed since Vegas left for his business trip, leaving Kim at home with their two children, Venice and Leiah. Every day felt like an eternity, but Kim knew it was necessary for their future. Despite the distance, they made the best of their situation with daily video calls that brought a semblance of normalcy to their lives.
Every evening, Kim would set up his laptop in the living room, ensuring that Venice and Leiah were in view of the camera. As the screen flickered to life, Vegas’s face would appear, bringing an instant smile to Kim’s face.
"Daddy!" Venice would exclaim, clapping his little hands together with excitement.
Vegas’s eyes would light up, his smile broadening. "Hey, little man! How’s my big boy doing today?"
Venice would babble excitedly about his day, showing off his toys and trying to share his snacks through the screen. Leiah, though younger, would gurgle and reach out for the screen, her chubby fingers trying to grasp her daddy’s image.
"Hi, my princess," Vegas would coo, his voice softening as he spoke to Leiah. "Daddy misses you so much."
Kim’s heart would swell at these moments, watching the love between Vegas and their children. Despite the miles between them, their bond remained strong, and the calls became a cherished routine.
Vegas would play songs on his guitar, the familiar melodies filling the room. Venice and Leiah would giggle and sway, their innocent joy a balm for Kim’s longing heart.
After the kids were tucked into bed, the calls would continue. The tone would shift, becoming more intimate as Kim and Vegas shared their feelings and the details of their days. They would talk about their dreams for the future, their plans for the family, and how much they missed each other.
"I can't wait to hold you again," Vegas would say, his voice thick with emotion. "Every night, I dream of being back home with you and the kids."
Kim would nod, his heart aching with longing. "I miss you so much, Vegas. It's hard being apart, but knowing you're out there doing this for us keeps me going."
As the nights went on, their conversations would often turn more passionate. The distance was a cruel reminder of their physical separation, but they found solace in each other’s voices and the intimacy of their calls.
One night, after a particularly emotional conversation, Kim felt a wave of desire wash over him. "I wish you were here with me," he whispered, his voice husky with longing.
"Me too," Vegas replied, his tone mirroring Kim’s need. "I want to feel you, touch you…"
Their calls would escalate, turning into steamy sessions where they explored their desires through the screen. Kim would strip off his clothes, feeling the heat of Vegas's gaze even from thousands of miles away.
Vegas would follow suit, their moans and whispers filling the silence of the night. They would guide each other, their touches becoming more urgent, their breaths ragged with need.
Kim’s hands would move over his body, guided by Vegas’s voice. "Touch yourself for me, baby. I want to see you."
Kim would comply, his breath hitching as he imagined Vegas’s hands on him instead. "I need you, Vegas," he would gasp, his body trembling with desire.
"I’m right here," Vegas would reply, his voice a soothing balm. "We’ll be together soon."
Their sessions would end with shared climaxes, their names whispered into the void, a testament to their unbreakable connection. Spent and satisfied, they would lie in the afterglow, still connected by the screen, talking softly about their love and future until sleep claimed them.
"Good night, love," Kim would murmur, his eyes heavy with exhaustion yet content.
"Sweet dreams, Kim," Vegas would reply, his voice a promise. "We’ll be together soon."
Despite the distance, their love remained a lifeline, sustaining them through the long nights. Each call brought them closer, strengthening their bond and fueling their dreams of a peaceful future together.
And as the weeks turned into months, Kim held on to the promise of Vegas's return, knowing that their love would see them through any challenge that came their way. Their dreams of a normal, peaceful life were within reach, and with Vegas by his side.
There is a new story up, well, it is actually an old draft that I am sharing with you now.
