Anita opened her eyes. She felt exhausted. She winced as pain shot through her right leg. As she looked down, she was surprised to see that the hole had been sutured neatly. She then froze, not recognizing the surroundings. 'Where... where am I?' she asked, despite there being no one in the room. As she tried to sit up, a nurse came rushing in.'No, no, please don't try to get up miss,' said the nurse. 'Where am I? Where is Mike?' asked Anita. 'You're at the headquarters of The Resistance. Mike will be here shortly, don't worry.' Anita didn't detect an obvious lie and calmed down a bit. 'Please try and rest. When Mike comes he will explain everything,' said the nurse. Anita remained in silence. As the nurse walked out she heard her speak briefly to someone, followed by quick footsteps and the sound of a door opening and then closing.
She closed her eyes, trying to return to her visions. The memories from the past. She still felt the pain from losing Mitchell. She opened her eyes again, trying to focus. As she tried to sit up straight dizziness took over and she soon gave up. Her body was telling her that she needed to rest. Perhaps she should listen to it.
Afew minutes of silence were interrupted by a person opening the door to her room. 'Anita!' said Mike, his voice full concern. She relaxed completely on hearing his voice, opened her eyes and smiled. 'Don't you worry Mike, I'm alive and breathing,' she chuckled. 'How are you feeling?' he asked. She shrugged. 'Better than a few minutes ago. I just feel exhausted, as if I haven't slept in days.' Mike nodded.'Probably a side effect of whatever they used to heal you,' he said.'Speaking of which,' interrupted Anita, 'What the hell happened?''Let me explain from the beginning,' said Mike. 'We were making our way here when a sniper shot you. We brought you to an abandoned hospital in search of supplies only to find the building occupied by mercenaries. We killed most of them but they caught Richard and myself. Had it not been for some soldiers from The Resistance, I doubt we'd be having this conversation.' 'Sounds like something out of an action movie,' mused Anita. 'Do you mind if I rest a bit? I'm very tired.' Mike shook his head. 'Take your time, I have something I need to take care of,' he said. He left the room and went back outside. He had to find out who was leaking information and he had to do it fast. Whatever John was doing, he sure wasn't waiting for Mike to show up.
Leaving the clinic, he headed towards the residential area. A large section of the complex had been restored to meet living needs. The inhabitants were sorted by floor; the higher your rank, the higher the floor of the room you were given. Ten floors. Mike entered and went straight to fourth floor. He walked down the corridor and found a brown door with a label on it. It read 'I. Emmis'. He unlocked it using the key card he was given by The Deer, knowing that the owner was working in the garage. The room was rather small, filled only by a bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a small area reserved for machine parts.
Searching the desk and wardrobe yielded nothing, nor did looking under the bed.He was about to leave when he thought to check the clutter in the small area. He didn't know much about mechanics, but he found something that seemed out of the ordinary. A small plate had the letters 'U.S.G.A' written on it, and on the back was the inscription'For The President'. No other pieces had an inscription, so he picked it up and left the room, before proceeding to the eighth floor.
The first door to the left in the corridor had a label with 'R. Kristof' on it. Randy was busy in a meeting so Mike opened the door and entered. This room was significantly bigger. The furniture was similar but there was much more space. He searched the place from top to bottom but found nothing incriminating. On the contrary, there was even a medal won for 'Intelligence Coordinator of the Year'. Mike chuckled at the thought of an award in such times.
Ashe reached the ninth floor, he heard voices inside the room belonging to Oscar Miller. He placed his ear against the door but was unable to understand any of the muffled speech.
He waited around in the corridor patiently for the second person to leave and, sure enough, five minutes later Isaac Emmis exited the room. So much for working in the garage. He was followed by Oscar, neither of them paying any attention to Mike, presumably because he was knocking on another door.
Before the owner of that room could open his door, Mike moved sideways and opened the door to the now-vacant room. Closing the door behind him,he took in the surroundings. The room was large and was filled with military equipment. On the desk there was a computer. Mike turned it on only to be greeted by a password screen. He looked around for any clues about the password or anything in general. He was just about to give up when he noticed a familiar plate in a drawer. The inscription was the same. I doubt this is a coincidence.Walking over to the computer again, Mike tried the password'The_President'. The computer showed 'Invalid password' in red text.Typing 'USGA' gave the same disappointing result. He almost felt stupid thinking that it would work. As a last futile attempt, he typed 'OscarUSGA'. To his disbelief, the screen actually showed a green text saying 'Access granted'. Mike almost laughed at the simplicity of the password. His laughter soon stopped as he read the contents of the open document.
