As Ethan and his companions were escorted from the grand hall, the gravity of their situation settled heavily upon them. The guards were relentless, their grips firm and unyielding. The corridors of the Presidential Palace were labyrinthine, a maze designed to disorient and demoralize any who dared to tread its paths. But Ethan's mind was racing, piecing together fragments of his father's plan and the power he now possessed.

They were thrown into a dimly lit cell, the door clanging shut behind them. The cold, damp air was suffocating, but the determination in Ethan's eyes was unyielding.

Maya, still reeling from the betrayal she had been forced into, looked at Ethan, her voice breaking. "Ethan, I'm so sorry. I never wanted any of this. I only wanted to protect my family."

Ethan nodded, a mixture of anger and understanding in his eyes. "I know, Maya. We were all used. But now we have to focus on getting out of here and finishing what my father started."

Diana stepped forward, her voice steady. "We need a plan. We can't just wait here to be executed."

Jacob, his face pale but determined, nodded. "Ethan, you're the key. We need to figure out how to use your abilities to get us out of here."

Ethan closed his eyes, focusing on the power within him. He could feel the superhuman compound coursing through his veins, a gift and a burden left by his father. He concentrated, trying to access the information he needed.

Suddenly, his mind was flooded with images and data. He saw the layout of the palace, the guards' patrol routes, and the hidden passages that led to the outside world. He saw the security systems and the locations of the governors. And then, something unexpected—a hidden communication device in the corner of their cell, used by the guards to report back to the headquarters.

Ethan's eyes snapped open, a plan forming in his mind. "There's a communication device in the corner of the cell. We can use it to contact the outside world, to get a message to the rebels."

Maya's eyes widened. "But how? They'll hear us."

Ethan grinned. "Not if we're clever about it."

They huddled together, devising a plan to use the device without alerting the guards. Ethan, with his newfound abilities, was able to manipulate the device, sending a coded message to the rebel forces in Greenfield.

As they waited for a response, the tension in the cell was palpable. Minutes felt like hours, but finally, the device crackled to life. It was Marcus, the rebel leader.

"Ethan, we got your message. What's the plan?" Marcus's voice was steady, a beacon of hope in the darkness.

Ethan quickly relayed the layout of the palace and the guards' schedules. "We need a diversion, something to draw the guards away from our cell. Once that happens, we can make our move."

Marcus agreed. "We'll set off a series of explosions in the eastern sector. That should draw most of the guards. Be ready to move when it happens."

The next few hours were a blur of preparation and anticipation. Finally, the ground shook with the force of the explosions. The guards outside their cell rushed away, their focus diverted.

"Now!" Ethan hissed, as he led the way through the hidden passages he had seen in his vision.

They moved quickly and silently, their hearts pounding with each step. The palace was a maze, but with Ethan's guidance, they navigated it with precision.

As they neared the exit, they encountered a group of guards. A fierce battle ensued, but Ethan and his friends fought with the desperation of those who had nothing left to lose. They managed to overpower the guards and burst through the final door, into the cool night air.
