Battling it out

The Death Eaters kept jeering, provoking more and more to start fighting them. Bellatrix yelled something evoking at Poppy, making her storm towards the mad, dark haired woman, closely followed by a skittish looking Alex. One masked Death Eater started ridiculing Jacks, Ibby and Nicholette, sparking them to send 3 different charms that way. Both Adams, Chloe and Denise stood fumbling, unsure on what to do. They separated unwillingly, helping those struggling. Colours of charms and curses, unforgivable or not, flew this way and that. Screams of joy and pain echoed within the crushed walls. Some had fallen to the ground in pain or death. It was hard to tell.  No one could do anything, even if they were dead. If they were to check or help someone hurt, they would both die. The Flalex Squad were spread across the entrance, which was dangerous for them. If one of them died, they'd only know at the end of the battle. If they won the battle.

"Keep going! We'll have this guy, and the rest of them defeated in no time!" Nicholette yelled to Jacks and Ibby. During her fleeting distraction, the Death Eater aimed a banishing charm at her, knocking her back and off her feet.
"Ah, fuck" Nicholette groaned, leaning herself up on one elbow.
"Grinny!" Jacks shouted over her shoulder "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, just don't get distracted by me."
"Incarcerous!" Ibby screamed, knocking the Death Eater back and tying him in ropes. Ibby and Jacks both ran to help Grinny to her feet, but she was hobbling. She was like a puppy taking it's first steps whilst it's still partially blind.
"You need to go to the healers" Jacks said, hauling half of Nicholette, as Ibby carried the rest.
"No, you guys stay, I can go by myself"
"Are you joking? You can barely hold yourself  up; we're taking you." Ibby said.

 At that point, Adam had taken care of their Death Eater, and had immediately ran to see Alex.
"We need to talk again" He wheezed
"Now? We're in the middle of a battle!" Alex said to his side, whilst sending out various curses.
"Alex, please. It's important"
"More important than our lives?"
"Alex. We'll live. Please"
Alex sighed, annoyed, before running into the castle with him.

"What is it, then?" Alex asked, as they wandered down the lobby of Hogwarts.
It was time to tell Alex everything.
