The Flalex squad sat in the Great Hall, surrounding Poppy and Chloe. Poppy had broken her left leg and Chloe had been cut along her forehead and down her arm. They had broken the news about Adam's death to them were all sat in silence, mourning him.
"What do we do now?" Chloe asked
"They'll probably close the school for repairs; that'll take a while. Whatever happens, we have to stay together." Denise said
"We have to have Adam's funeral." Adam said
"I just can't believe he's gone. I was upset that he broke up with me at a time like then, and so suddenly. But I never wanted him dead." Chloe said
"None of us did." Ibby said
"We should have his funeral on his birthday. Seems fitting." Alex said, they all nodded.
The next few days were a blur of packing to leave, healing those injured and saying goodbyes. The Flalex squad had decided to stay in Manchester, so they could tell Adam's family, and Alex and Adam could see theirs. The rest were going to stay in a hotel as close to Alex and Adam as possible.
The train ride home was quiet, as they were still in shock from Adam's death. Poppy now had her leg in a cast and Chloe had been bandaged up. As they rode through rolling hills of the countryside, it started to lightly snow. It was unnatural for February. At their last glimpse of the world outside, it had become heavier and didn't seem to stop.
They rolled into the station. Families waited patiently for their children to get off, relieved to see them after the horror story of the war. Students up to 4th year had been taken away before the war started properly, in case anything bad happened. Therefore, there weren't many families waiting. This was true for the Flalex squad, as they went straight out of Platform 9 3/4 and onto the muggle platform to get on the train to Manchester. This train ride was just like the first, quiet and long.

They were in a taxi on the way to the hotel that they had booked for everyone apart from Adam and Alex, who were returning to their own houses. The taxi stopped; they paid the driver and all got out.
The hotel rooms were all on the 5th Floor, all adjoining to each other. Each identical and as plain as the next. After they had settled, Adam and Alex left to walk the rest of the way home.
"I still can't believe he's gone." Alex said
"Yeah. At least you were with him when he died." Adam replied
"The last words he heard from another human was me..."
"He was probably happy to die with you near him."
"Can I tell you something?"
"Of course mate, go ahead."
"Adam broke up with Chloe because he was in love with me..."
"You're joking. You made that up."
"I wish I was. I feel so bad for breaking them up."
"It was bound to happen, you could see they were getting worse"
"I'm worried for his funeral. I mean, who's planning it?"
"Ibby seemed set on doing it. His parents'll have to have input. You need to do the eulogy though."
"What? No. It should be Ibby, or-or one of his parents or family member."
"You knew him best! Come on."
"I'll ask Ibby. I'll have to write it, I can't write!"
"Of course you can!" Adam said, as they neared their houses. They parted, with the idea of Adam's eulogy taking over Alex's thoughts.
