Author's Pov
Mr. Pandya was sitting in the living room and a little mayank was cutely wrapped like a cocoon in a pretty white baby blanket and was nestled close to him on his lap, he had a cup of coffee sitting beside him on the couch table and a laptop was opened in front of him as he indulged himself in an office related work.
Just then the big doors of the entrance opened and an excited hardik came rushing in with a calm krunal following behind, carrying both his and hardik's school bag.
Hardik: baba aap kya kar rahe ho? Mera chota bhai kaha pe hai?
He asked his baba as he walked behind the couch and encircled his arms around his father's neck as he peeked at the laptop and tried to get what his father was busy with.
Mr. Pandya: kuch nhi beta, bas thora office ka kaam tha, tum btao kaisa raha tumhara school kaisa tha?
Hardik: bohot accha tha, aaj mere test mein pure marks aaye.
Mr. Pandya: acche baat hai, chalo hath muh dho aao or apne chhote Bhai ke sath khel lo.
Just then krunal made himself known as he greeted his father.
Krunal: namaste baba!
Mr. Pandya: namaste beta, jao tum bhi jaker hath muh dho lo.
Krunal: ji baba.
As both the brothers descended their steps up the stairs and went back to their respective rooms with the intentions of freshing up, a loud cry echoed through the living room as the baby in his fathers embrace woke up.
A small sad smile came across Mr. Pandya's face as he gently kept the laptop aside and picked the crying baby in his arms and rocked him back and forth, his movements not at all smooth as he tried to manage both his work and the baby's nourishing together.
The baby wept for a while but calmed down after his father embraced him close and rocked him.
Mr. Pandya looked at the now calm baby who was looking at him with innocent eyes, a trail of emotions hit him as reality settled itself, sadness and pain rushed in him as he realised the baby in front of him will never be able to see and meet his mother. That no matter what the baby will have to move forward with his life while being motherless.
And a sudden anger flared in him as he acknowledged the reason. His own son, the youngest of all his children, the one who he had considered not his, the boy who just came to the world has took his own mother's life, had killed his wife, had killed his children's mother, he hated him and blamed him for the reason why his wife wasn't alive.
But among his own grief and sorrow that surrounded him he forgot that, the person who he was blaming was a mere child, an innocent soul who hasn't even saw the world, someone who knew nothing but to smile at everything and nothing and cry when he was in pain.
Someone who doesn't even know who his parents were and are, knew non of his brothers. He blamed such a sweet soul just because he was too engulfed in his own pain and grief. As he was deep in his own thoughts a sudden shake of his arm made him come out of it and he looked at teb source to see hardik looking at him with confused eyes.
Mr. Pandya: kya hua harry kya baat hai?
He said as he placed the now asleep mayank on the little crib that was sitting beside him.
Hardik: baba wo baby no. 2 kaha hai?
A look of anger flared in Mr. Pandya's eyes as he heard the mention the other twin.
Mr. Pandya: kahi nahi hai wo, or accha hoga hardik agar tum us bacche ke upar na he dhyan do, samjhe?
He said rudely and harshly making hardik even more confused as if why his so loving father is talking like this at the mention of his youngest brother.
Hardik: par baba wo ese akele kaha hai? Usko pass kon hai? Wo to abhi ch-.
He was cut off by the angry voice of his father as he glared at him and sternly told him.
Mr. Pandya: chup raho hardik? Tumhe ek bar mein samaj nahi aya meine kya kaha? Mat karo uski baat or bhul jao use, koi nhi hai wo tumhara, mere sirf 3 bacche hai or tumhare sirf do bhai hai samjh gaye?
Hardik: par baba ye aap kesi baat kar rhe hai, wo bhi to apka baccha ha-
His words were silenced by a sharp slap that landed on his left cheek and the baby who had fallen asleep before now woke up from the yelling and started crying while hardik looked at his father with scared and confused eyes, a hand placed on his left cheek to lessen the pain.
Mr. Pandya: nahi hai wo mera baccha, kuch nhi hai wo mere liye or tum uski baat bilkul nahi kroge hardik Or agar meine tumhe uske aas pass bhi dekha na to tum soch bhi nahi sakte mein tumhare sath kya karunga.
Mr. Pandya stood up and held the baby in his arms gently rocking him as he went back upstairs leaving a teary eyed and shocked hardik.
Krunal entered the living room with a book in his hand as he was deeply into the book he didn't noticed hardik just yet and as he settled himself on the couch his eyes went to the still quite hardik who looked as if he was about to cry.
Krunal: Arre hardik kya hua? Ese muh kyu bnaya hua hai? Thik to hai na tu?
After hearing his brother's voice the quite hardik looked at him with damp eyes and just as his eyes met krunal's his tears started falling from his eyes and krunal immediately came to him, confused but dedicated to comfort his brother. As he gently approached him and engulfed his brother in a warm hug.
Krunal: bas harry kya hua tu ese kyu ro raha hai, or baba kaha gye?
Hardik flinched at the mention of their father but slowly removed hsi hand from his cheek and once done a loud gasp could be heard, the owner being krunal.
Krunal: harry kisne kiya yeh? o..or kaise tu to baba ke sath tah na?
He asked as he gently traced the handprint on hardik's cheek, making him flinch in pain.
Hardik: b..baba.
Krunal: baba!! baab ne tujhe mara?
Hardik nodded his head and krunal asked.
Krunal: kyu? Esa kya kiya tune jo baba ko itna gussa aa gya?
Hardik shook his head and defended himself.
Hardik: kuch nhi kiya meine, bas baba se dusre baby ke bare mein pucha tha.
