THE FRONT DOOR TO THE LAWSON'S HOME CREAKED OPEN OMINOUSLY, JENNIFER LOOKING IN, TAKING SLOW, CALCULATED STEPS INSIDE TOWARDS THE LIVING ROOM. Jennifer's heart raced within her body, the only thing stopping it from exploding right then and there being the presence of Steve behind her, the boy closing the door behind him.

The sound of the door clicking closed made Robert's head snap to the two who had just entered the house, his body lifting itself from the couch before he could even think to do so. Tears welled in his eyes as he walked closer to his daughter, his arms wrapping themselves tightly around her, shaking slightly from the fear that coursed through his veins. His limbs stayed wrapped around her securely for a few moments before he pulled away, his hands grasping her face to look it over, his eyes filled with fear and concern. "Are you okay?" He questioned desperately, Jennfier simply nodded, giving her Father a soft, sad smile.

At that, Robert's arms immediately contracted around his daughter yet again, his eyes trailing to the boy who stood a few feet away closer to the entrance. Before Steve could say a word, Robert's hand flung to his shoulder, swiftly pulling him in and wrapping an arm around his neck, cradling the back of his head with his hand as he did Jennifer. "Thank you." He murmured into the boy's ear, his arms wrapped tightly around the two.

Steve couldn't stop his eyes from watering slightly, a short smile etching itself onto his face as he wrapped an arm around Robert, his other snaking around Jennifer's waist.

"CAN I OPEN MY EYES YET?" Jennifer questioned, her hands covering her eyes, eager to look at whatever it was Steve was getting ready to show her.
