a Caitlin Clark Fanfiction
NORA SOLACE .. Nora is a 172 cm (5 feet and 8 inches) guard from the University of South Carolina, selected sixth overall in the 2025 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever. Usually, one would be excited to have been selected that early in the draft. While Nora was excited, she was also terrified. Terrified because Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever's favorite player, hated her.
Nora is described to have sandy (highlighted) blonde hair with light brown streaks, her hair is chest length. Nora has dark hazel eyes and slightly tan skin. Nora grew up surfing in Hawai'i, the last place she expected to end up was South Carolina on a basketball scholarship.
CAITLIN CLARK .. Caitlin Clark. Everyone in basketball knows her name. Caitlin is a 182 cm (6 feet) guard from the University of Iowa. After the 2024 WNBA season, the Indiana Fever ended up losing during the first round of the playoffs (8th team). Despite that, Caitlin was still rewarded rookie of the year. Then after college season came to an end, Caitlin hoped, even prayed that Nora would get drafted before it was Indiana's pick. But deep down she knew Nora was going to get drafted by Indiana, and she was not happy.
One thing not well-known about Caitlin is her catholic upbringing. She attended a catholic elementary school and high school. Caitlin was even originally committed to Notre Dame, a catholic university. But changed her mind and switched to the University of Iowa. Caitlin is not as vocal about her faith as other basketball stars.
In this fanfic, Caitlin's parents are quietly in disapproval of the LGBTQ+ community and any of their children being a member is out of the question. I cannot stress enough that this detail is purely for the fanfics sake.

Everybody knows the story of the 2024 NCAA championship, Iowa VS South Carolina. Caitlin's senior year and Nora's junior year. South Carolina ended up going 39-0 that season, beating Iowa 87-75. This was a blow to Caitlin, and she blamed Nora. While the girls had met before and had plenty of fights during AAU and two or three during high school, college was a whole other level of fights between the two.
Now, they're on the same team and practices have been rough. While Nora is a good player and Caitlin is a better one, the two still aren't even speaking. Now it's time for their first preseason game against the Seattle Storm.
