We reached my home in the middle of the night. I healed my mare and Seth and led Tobias and his stallion to the stables I had created.

"Mari?" I turned to find Elliot with a ball of fire in her hand. "Who is that? Why are you back?" She was in a nightgown and looked frightened.

"Relax, Elliot." I soothed her and I led them both back into my house. Seth was waiting outside with Hazel. "This is Tobias, he is the former Witch Hunter leader." She gasped and armed herself with fire quickly. "Enough." I extinguished the fire. "The king has ordered Tobias to capture me and not kill me. He doesn't know why but the important thing is that his wife and daughters are being held captive by the king."

"What?!" Elliot gasped and made a glass of tea for the man. "Are you ok sir?" He shook his head. "Is he a witch descendant?"

"Yes." I frowned slightly. "One of his daughters inherited magic from his bloodline while his other daughter takes after his wife." I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. "They never told him they were witches but he has seen them do strange things and so he is worried about them."

"It's ok, sir." Elliot smiles. "They will be safe here." She rubs his back as he starts to cry again. "Mariposa has saved us and she will save them too."

"I'm going to leave him in your hands. Make sure he stays here and doesn't try to go rogue." She nods and I kiss the top of her head as I leave. "Seth, are you ready to go?" He nods. I sigh and place my head on his shoulder.

"Are you ok?" He asks softly. He lifts me and places me in the saddles before he climbs on behind me. I lean into him and pull his cloak tighter around me. "Are you alright, Mariposa?" He asks again as he sends the horse to her full speed.

"I'm ok." I tell him quietly. We race through the rest of the night.
