"I don't know if I can do this." I admitted to Mitch and Jerome.

"You have to if you want him to know the truth." Mitch reminded me.

"Don't worry." Jerome said. "We'll be right there by you."

"Alright." I tried to encourage myself. "I can do this. I can do this. I can do this."

"You can." Jerome told me, shaking me by my shoulders.

"You know," Mitch checked his watch. "We've been gone for a while. The Klub opens in 10 minutes."

"Then we had better get back."

"Yeah." Jerome agreed.

After we got there, we waited calmly for our turn to go onstage. Well, they were calm. I was a nervous wreck.

"And now, here's Steve."Jin introduced. "With a little help from the Benja and Bacca."

"Here we go." I mumbled to myself as we climbed onto the stage.

I guess that Mitch noticed that I was still nervous, because he whispered that I could do it before he got in his spot.

"This is for the special people in our lives." I said, trying to sound confident.

"Our girls." Mitch told them.

"And my guy." I said, my heart racing.

The music starts. I pause, unsure, then I start singing.

"What would I do without your smart mouth." (Yeah. Get over it.)

I knew that Mitch and Jerome were right behind me. singing for Anna and Ash, but I was still scared. I could feel Adam watching me. I wondered if he knew that I was singing for him. After the song, Mitch and Jerome backed up to give me some room.

"Adam," I said, scared to death. "This was for you. I've always loved you. I didn't know until recently, until you started dating Tyler, that there was a chance that you might have loved me too. It was like you were teasing me. I mean, telling the gay man that you loved him, then laughing. It killed me inside. And it took a long time for me to tell that it hurt you when I turned away. I never told you. I never let on. It was my secret. Secrets out, I love you. What do you say?"

I held my breath as Adam stood up and walked onto the stage. He grabbed my hand and, to my great relief, smiled. "Steve, I love you too. I wasn't meaning to tease you. I just felt a little insecure. I'm sorry."

I smiled. "It's okay."

And with that, we kissed.
