Between 53 AC and 100 AC

King Jaehaerys was a good king.
He ruled with a just hand and a strong need to create a Kingdom without the probability of war.
And just as any other King, he needed heirs.

His wife, always by his side, a pillar of strength and security in his rule, had become pregnant with their first child and although many wished for his highness to birth a boy, Jaehaerys had implied that he wouldn't have minded a darling little girl. He and Alysanne planned to have many more children and with that said, who cared what gender so long as he produced a son at one point or another.

It was dark when the wails of his wife startled him into action, knife from beneath their bed in hand and sprung, ready to face a threat only for his eyes to land on his swollen wife and her fearful expression.

She birthed him a boy named Aegon that next morning after pushing for hours.

He only lived for a day before his heart stopped.

Alysanne was devastated.

Jaehaerys was heartbroken.

But time went on.

He continued to go to court, listened to the please of his people, and brushed up on old allies with promises and bright futures.

Alysanne was pregnant once more.

Jaehaerys was weary.

"So soon?"

"It's my duty," she had told him. Her gaze hard and determined. "It will be a boy. And he will be strong."

But it was not and Jaehaerys found himself with his first breathing child, a beautiful baby girl with hair so white that it seemed to blend with the paleness of her skin. And when she opened her eyes for the very first time, the King wondered if he had ever known love before. He pressed his lips to the crown of his wife's head and held them close in contentment while Alysanne frowned at the baby in her arms.

The child was named Daenerys and she filled Kings Landing with her contagious laughter.

She was adored and loved with tight curls and big eyes.
