1. WHAT IS ' FLOREN ' ?

So basically in this story dorne doesn't exist and is instead replaced with a land I've created, "Floren."

Floren only holds one similarity to Dorne and that is its independence, Floren still had/has independence over its land even after Aegon's conquest until it joins the other seven kingdoms through the marriage of Aeverie and Aemond, (Floren still rules under the monarchy of the Goldwyn house, but with the marriage of Aeverie and Aemond they now have an alliance with Westeros.)

I really wanted to make my own house for a House of the Dragon fic because I was sick of reading abt Daemon's daughter marrying Aemond lmao, and also because I really wanted to incorporate my own spin of mythical creatures in the world; faeries. I know in Game of Thrones, the children of the forest are described as fae/elven-like but they aren't exactly faeries and I thought it'd be cool to have just straight up fae!! So, Floren is home to pixies and all kinds of fae (at least it once was but you have to read to understand that.) Floren is heavily based on fairy mythology from around the world, even all of Aeveries family names are fae/elven-based.

2. GODWYN BLOODLINE

This is just a clarification on the family's bloodline, in the characters chapter I only included Coran Godwyn's DIRECT (minus Danera but she is the mother of all of Coran's children except Rowyn) bloodline, meaning his siblings (Orion) and his children. There will be mentions of more Godwyns such as Airen's daughter, Liana.

3. THE CREATURES OF FLOREN  ( this will be updated as the story goes on )

i. souleaters

(rebels who divided themselves from Coran and Orion Godwyn during the war. despite being human, the kingdom deemed than less due to their cannibalistic ways during the war. all known souleaters were sentenced to death after the war. )

ii. pixies ( mischievous, low-born faeries who serve noble floren families. not all pixies serve floren families, some still live in the forest surrounding floren but forest pixies are not to be encountered for many will attack. )

iii. high fae ( extinct faeries who once ruled floren, most held human-like traits but had supernatural abilities. house eddard are the last living ancestors of the high fae )

iv. low fae ( a dwindled population of fae, hideous-looking creatures who live in the forest. they are not to be encountered for many will capture those who mess with them into a bargain, making you their slaves or worse. )
