'The Driftmark Incident'

After an insightful walk with Vissera who the Queen Mother was fairly fond of, Raenenya retired to her guest chambers to ready herself and her children for dinner. The meal was a spontaneous decision by the Queen Alicent but one she had no qualms in concurring with wanting her children to. Wanting to spend more time with the young girl Raenenya approached Alicent and Rhaenyra to arrange for Vissera to join them for dinner to which they agreed

The Kaeyan Velaryon's were dressed in fine deep purple silks in a fashion unseen in Westeros as Vissera wore the Black and Blue of her two houses proudly

Seated at the grand table was Raenenya and Alicent side by side, the King nowhere in sight as he retired to his chambers, in an effort to ally her family with the royalty of Kaeyan the Green Queen mixed the children. Next to Alicent was Aegon, then Rhygor and beside him was Aemond followed by Vissera next to her was Helaena and finally beside her mother was Rani

"Do all the men in your country wear jewellery in their hair" Aegon asked referring to the almost delicate golden jewellery adorning the Prince's pale dreadlocks. The older prince gestured to the jug of wine beside Rhygor which the boy passed politely

"Aegon behave!" Alicent reprimanded

"Oh no offense has been taken Your Grace, the Prince is merely curious" Rhygor said with a charming smile

"Right he is Mother" Aegon said, although his tone was teasing there was some curiosity laced through it

"In Kaeyan jewellery is worn by people who want to wear jewellery, we only consider them additions to ones beauty"

"Mmm pretty things worn by pretty things yes" Aegon said as he looked to Rani

"Have mercy please stop your eyes from eating my sister" Rhygor said to which the pale haired Prince chuckled

Both Alicent and Aemond were deeply embarrassed at Aegon's innapropriate behaviour reflecting on their family

"So Helaena has your ladybug collection grown any since my time away?" Vissera asked, missing her dear friend

"No, if anything it's become smaller since you were the only one who retrieved them for me when I was too frightened to climb up to them"

"Oh I see, then we must find some exceptional insects here so that you may take them back to King's Landing. Perhaps there are some differences between certain bugs here and the same bugs in your collection"

Alicent watched her step-granddaughter engaged enthusiastically with her daughter in a conversation of.. insects, the Green Queen loved her children resolutely that much was obvious to anyone but there were unquestionably uncommon traits within all of them. Or a more fitting term was the traits that were absent in her children as opposed to Vissera, the Queen couldn't help but be bitter that Rhaenyra, who repeatedly sired bastards, was blessed with a child as caring, intelligent and warm-hearted as Vissera. She felt as if the Gods slighted her, a cruel son like Aegon, and as much as she loved her, a strange daughter like Helaena

But what truly felt like a joke was the fact that because she was daughter to Rhaenyra and she knew the day would come when the Heir would make Vissera fight for her, the young girl she'd come to wish was born to her was bound by blood to the enemy's side. Perhaps she could usher her to their side through Aemond as the pair were ever fond of each other, but neither Rhaenyra nor Laenor would give her to them
