"Are you- I thought you hated- what the hell are y'all doing!" Skye yelled, not out of anger, more out of confusion. Chase trapped her shoulder, insisting that she should let them explain, but Skye could see the shock left marks on his face.

"I'm not even sure myself, I kind of just blinked and this started." Everest sighed, her face beet red from getting caught.

"We were talking about our rivalry and how it inspired us to act better? And then, we'll you saw." Marshal said shyly, but he still had that goofy smile.

"Damn, congrats I guess? I think that's an appropriate reaction." Chase said, smiling lightly to himself. "I mean I saw it coming, but at the same time I didn't."

"I think it's a little late to be having this conversation. How about we save this for another day, huh?" Skye says, feeling too tired to continue.

"Yeah that's fine by me, I'm actually a bit tired." Marshal said. "Plus my social battery is way past dead."

"I call dips on Marsh's room!" Chase yelled, hopping on the bed next to the two love birds.

"H-Hey! This is my room!" Marshal said.

"Alright fine." Chase said, pushing Everest out. "See you Everest! Goodnight Skye!" He said, a devious smirk on his face, one Skye found cute.

Everest groaned and gave Chase devil eyes but walked out with Skye to the guest room, they went under the blankets and were back to back.

Chase wiggled his way under Marshal's blanket, it smelled like the other boy. "What was that for? I wanted to cuddle with Everest?" Marshal said, disappointed but not angry.

"I don't like her, and as your best friend I put my foot down." Chase said.

"Woah, what's this about?" Marshal asked, the two boys facing each other.

"It's not her personally, but I think you can do better, Marsh you're one of the greatest guys I know and you deserve the world, and Everest is just...Everest. And again nothing wrong with her, but can you imagine being with her through everything and anything." Chase asked, he knew Marshal so personally that everyone felt like a let down, but especially Everest, his enemy of how many years.

"Alright, I get what you mean, but she's so much more, she's sweet, and she's way energetic! She even has ambitions and is taking college prep classes, we talked about more than just why the other means so much to us, we talked about our respective futures and even our personal lives. I even told her about it!" Marshal said, his eyes shinning and a never dying smile from cheek to cheek.

"It as in "it"it?" Chase said surprised. "She knows of your figure skating career?" Chase looked at Marshal dead in the eyes.

"Yeah..." He muttered, still beaming.

"Woah...maybe I jumped the gun..." Chase said. "Sorry Marsh, if she's cool enough to know about your secret skill, than she's plenty enough for you."

"Thanks Chase."

"But I'm still your best friend, if she even thinks about hurting you emotionally or especially physically, I'll end her." Chase said, causing Marshal to laugh softly.

"Noted, thanks Chase." Marshal said, to which Chase smiled, and they closed their eyes and passed out.

In the guest room, Everest's face fell with worry.

"Hey Skye?"

"Hmm?" She answered groggily.

"Do you think I'm...that me and Marshal...is it a mistake?" Everest said, facing the wall.
