Chapter ll

Chapter 2: An angel?

As they ran, they headed straight to the stairs at the end of the hallway to go up. There seemed to be no zombies on the 2nd floor, but it also didn't seem like a safe hiding place due to the broken doors; in case the zombies arrived, they would have nowhere to hide and escape.

The four of them stopped when they reached the stairs. "S-sasha and I just came from the third floor earlier, there were only a few zombies there. D-downstairs, the small gate is always locked so the zombies can't come up using those stairs," Connie whispered as he quietly caught his breath from the running. "Is there a restroom on the third floor?" Mikasa whispered while trying to peek up the stairs they planned to pass through, she took a little step up the stairs, but she didn't take any more steps because she could hear their groans.

"Yes, it's at the end of the hallway" Eren whispered back.

Mikasa went down the stairs and looked around. She looked outside the school and saw many of them gathering in building two, and many in building three; it seemed like this building was their first target but they didn't notice them because it was class time and there was a considerable distance between them.

She shifted her gaze to things they could use.

They needed to go to the fifth floor to get Armin and then they would go up to the rooftop for help; yeah... That's their goal.

Mikasa made her way down the stairs towards the ground floor to check if there was really a gate in front of the stairs, and yes; it was locked.

She immediately went up when a zombie suddenly appeared in front of the gate.

There was a zombie on the stairs heading to the third floor. They couldn't estimate how many there were but it seemed like there were only a few. She shifted her gaze to the other end of the hallway from where they were standing. They locked the gate connecting building one and two so the remaining zombies from the other building couldn't enter.

When she shifted her gaze back to the rooms, she had an idea.

She entered one room after another and looked around; why did she only think of this now?

"Connie, Eren, stand guard outside. Sasha, help me look for a phone in these bags here," she whispered as she opened one of those bags of people she didn't know.

"Isn't it a crime to open other people's bags?" Sasha jokingly said with a short laugh that stopped when Mikasa ignored it.

"Got'cha" Sasha said with a smirk, which Mikasa immediately grabbed.

"It needs a password to open-"

"No need for a passcode in an emergency."

30 minutes ago....

Building one, rooftop.

Annie's pov

Even though there were classes, I decided to cut class because I wasn't in the mood to socialize. It was only the first period but I was already bored here on the rooftop. I let out a sigh before putting my hand in the pocket of my jersey and went to the front of the rooftop door to open it.

But wait ...

Why do those people were shouting? It freakin' confusing me.

Shouldn't they be in class? But now it seemed like they were being chased by something.

I slowly went down the stairs to see what was happening. In fact, I didn't care about what was happening but .... this was so different.

I didn't know why suddenly those bitches were running towards building two.
