Alex and Juliet were taken into custody, and their arrests dominated the headlines and became the talk of the town for a month. However, the job was far from over. The Syndicate was a vast network, and the crew knew they had to dismantle it piece by piece.
The entire police station worked tirelessly alongside the crew, chasing down every lead. By the end of the month, they had arrested six more members of the Syndicate, including famous actors and wanted businessmen. It was a gruelling process, gathering enough evidence to bring these criminals to justice.
Two months later, life began to return to a semblance of normalcy. The crew was officially recognized as the city's Special Crimes Unit. Copper had access to state-of-the-art technology, although he still preferred to start his day by checking the news on his old monitor. Enola and Edwin had settled into their roles, but Edwin seemed to be living in the office, often found sleeping at his desk.
Agatha walked in, carrying a stack of files that needed attention. As she placed them on Copper's desk, she overheard the news on his screen. "As of today's headlines, the court has sentenced the members of the Syndicate to life imprisonment. Juliet is set to be hanged for her crimes by the end of the month." The news continued, but Agatha remained fixated on the screen.
Copper noticed her expression and spoke up. "Agatha, give yourself a break. We did everything we could, and the rest is out of our hands." Agatha nodded, then glanced over at Edwin, who was on the verge of falling out of his chair. "Any news on Jane? Where is she now?" she asked. Enola, still focused on her screen, replied with a smile, "Last I heard, she's back in her reporting job, same place, but in a higher position."
Agatha smiled, feeling a sense of closure. She walked back to her desk and was about to open the files when Edwin's desk phone rang. The sudden noise jolted Edwin awake, and he answered the call, wiping the drool from his mouth. The team waited in anticipation as Edwin's expression grew serious. He hung up the phone and stood up, his demeanour resolved. "We've got another case!"
Without hesitation, the team sprang into action. As they walked out, Copper called Chris from the forensic team and asked her to join them, along with the new recruit. Though one crime was solved, the world hadn't stopped turning. Each day brought new challenges and opportunities for the team to make a difference. The fight against crime was ongoing, but with each case, they grew stronger and more united.Top of Form
