THE RED SOWING

Rhaenyra arrived at the beach, her eyes narrowing as she spotted the young man standing near Seasmoke. Her face was a mask of fury as she approached, her voice cutting through the sea breeze.

"You stand before the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms," she declared, her tone ice-cold.

The young man, barely out of his teens, stood his ground. "I am Addam of Hull," he said, his voice steady. "I wish to be a dragonrider and serve the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms."

Rhaenyra's eyes flashed with anger and curiosity as she stepped closer. Seasmoke and Syrax, her dragon, exchanged menacing roars, their necks arching towards one another.

Addam swallowed hard but did not back down. "The dragon chose me," he explained. "I have served House Velaryon for many years. I have learned the meaning of true devotion, and I wish to serve you, my Queen." He knelt, his head bowed in respect. "I pledge my loyalty to you."

Rhaenyra's gaze softened slightly, but suspicion lingered in her eyes. "Where do you come from?" she demanded. "Who are your parents?"

"My mother worked at the shipyards," Addam replied. "My father... he was no one of importance."

Rhaenyra's expression hardened again. "Are you a descendant of House Targaryen?" she asked, her voice sharp.

Addam shook his head. "No, my Queen. I am Addam of Hull, and nothing more."

For a moment, there was silence. Then, to Addam's surprise, a small smile played at the corners of Rhaenyra's lips. "You have accomplished something remarkable," she said, a note of pride in her voice. "Something I thought impossible."

Addam looked up, hope flickering in his eyes. "Thank you, my Queen."

Rhaenyra nodded thoughtfully. "Can you take me to Dragonstone?" she asked.

Addam stood, his heart pounding. "It would be an honor, my Queen."

As he mounted Seasmoke, Rhaenyra watched him closely, a mixture of admiration and wariness in her gaze. She climbed onto Syrax, and together, they took to the skies, the future of the realm hanging in the balance.

Alicent was with the maester, tending to the wound on her arm caused by a dagger. She winced as he applied a salve, her thoughts a turbulent storm. Aenys, meanwhile, sat in contemplation, reassessing his priorities. He wondered if marrying Rhaenyra might have prevented the war that now ravaged the realm.

Finally, he turned to Alicent. "Perhaps we should leave King's Landing," he suggested, his voice weary.

Alicent looked at him, her eyes searching his face. "And go where?" she asked softly.

"Anywhere but here," Aenys replied. "A place where we can find peace."

In another part of the Red Keep, Lord Larys and Lord Jasper were deep in conversation.

"People have seen Seasmoke with a dragonrider," Larys whispered, his eyes gleaming with intrigue. "If we obtain this information, it could earn me favor with the king."

Jasper nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Do you believe the king will be in favor of a new marriage with Queen Rhaenyra?"

Larys smirked. "The king's alliances are ever-shifting. It's always wise to have leverage."

They watched from a distance as Prince Aemond and King Aenys conversed in the courtyard, their expressions grave.

Meanwhile, across the Narrow Sea, Queen Rhaenyra and Addam of Hull arrived by ship. Their dragons, Syrax and Seasmoke, soared above them, casting long shadows over the waters. The sight of the dragons brought cheers from the gathered Blacks, assembled for a council meeting.
