a/n: happy stay day!!
i'm so sorry i haven't been writing much recently, and i hope this makes up for it hehe
i had SO much fun writing this one omg TT prince au and starcrossed lovers suits minho so much it's made me go insane. i literally love the angst and the fluff of this so freaking much; this genuinely might be one of my favourite one-shots i've ever written. i love it so much it's actually insane.
there is a bit of hinting at some... non-pg things, let's say... at the end, but it's really nothing explicit, so you should be fine even if you're just a kid.
(but if you're a kid, you should fr be outside getting sunlight and not reading fanfics TT remember to put on sunscreen! i feel like a hypocrite cuz TECHNICALLY i'm a minor too LOL)
i hope you guys enjoy this <3
xoxo
six weeks.
it had been six weeks since minho had been able to see her.
'her' being the prettiest woman he had ever laid his eyes upon. the one whose laugh made him feel squishy inside, and whose eyes reminded him of the vast universe beyond him.
minjee.
he hated the caste system. he hated it more than he hated his job and life, and that was saying a lot. he hated it because it was unfair. he hated it because it was discriminatory. he hated it because wonderful, beautiful lives were going to waste as stupid maids, forced to remain out of sight while he was trapped in a palace, surrounded by gold, jewels, and people's attention.
he hated it because it would never permit him to be with her.
it was twilight, and the moon was shining softly, making the inside of his room glow. it was a plain room, although minho's parents insisted for him to adorn it with jewels and women. it was a simple white room with simple furniture.
it made him feel like he wasn't as much of an asshole for being unable to change the shitty caste system.
he paced around the room nervously, waiting for minjee to slip in as she did every time he left behind a ribbon in his room in the mornings.
she, along with a few others, were his cleaning maids, and after he'd freshen up and leave his room, they'd slip in, clean quietly, and leave, instructed strictly not to be seen.
and every time he would leave behind a ribbon, she would know to slip in that night.
it was risky for both of them. minjee could lose her job, and minho could be exiled. but something about her captivated him enough to not care. she captivated him enough for him to fall head over heels for her, wanting to run away with her at any given moment.
but always, she refused. she would say the time wasn't right, and when his gut feeling agreed with her, minho would, too.
he glanced at his clock. it was getting later than usual. was minjee okay? did she get caught? oh my god, if she was caught by a guard, the guard would surely—
