"The east wing has been cleaned up and prepared for the guests. All the rooms are now ready for use, ma'am" one of the maids said, bowing respectfully.I offered her a warm smile. "What about the west wing?" I asked, my mind drifting back to the guest chart and who would be staying where.
"The west wing was ready yesterday, ma'am," she replied confidently. "We decided to clean the north wing first since it's the biggest and takes the most time."
I nodded in agreement. "That makes perfect sense. Thank you for your hard work."
She returned my smile. "You're welcome, ma'am. Is there anything else you need?"
"Yes," I said, thinking ahead. "The guests will start arriving from tomorrow morning. Please make sure to guide them to their respective wings. Although food will be served jointly, ensure the mini-fridges in all the rooms are well stocked in case anyone gets hungry or needs a snack."
"Absolutely, ma'am. I'll take care of it right away," she assured me.
"And one more thing," I added. "Please contact me immediately when guests for the east wing arrive. They should be given priority."
She nodded, her expression serious. "Understood, ma'am. I'll keep you informed."
"Thank you, if you have any issues rise up contact me or Nora. Guards have been stationed at each floor, please make sure they're given food and water on time alongside anything else they may need throughout their shifts" I said, feeling a slight sense of relief knowing everything was under control.
Lucas had been stressed for the last few days and seemed to be distant and shut off due to work.
Give him space.
We all need a moment to ourselves sometimes, don't we?
Sighing, I went to Zia's room and saw her engrossed in a big canvas, colourful strokes decorating the board.
"Hi," I said softly, hoping not to startle my busy bee.
Zia turned around and immediately smiled upon seeing me.
"Hi, Mama, look!" she exclaimed with excitement as she stood beside her painting, her eyes twinkling as she waited for me to respond.
"I love the colour combination. Great job,
bubs," I said, in awe of the colour scheme.
Zia grinned. "Dadda also liked it."
I'm glad he was still taking out time to talk to her at least.
