Y/n walked up the pathway in her village. Honestly, it was less of a pathway and more like a bunch of rocks put together. As she walked, she moved away from the bustling houses below hers. Her husband didn't socialize well. So, to save the trouble of any weird misunderstandings that might occur, she took it upon herself to acquire a house just outside the others. The house was perched on a slightly big hill. It gazed over the other homes, providing a great view.

Y/n carried a basket full of coal for the winter. She wasn't even halfway home, but her shoulders were quick to ache with hurt.

She passed by some friendly faces on her way out, giving small waves and a few nods with a smile. Y/n was always so sweet and caring. Her husband and she could be opposites. She expressed her emotions out loud, wearing them on her face. He, however, kept his inside, not knowing how to convey them.

'I hope Giyu isn't too cold.' She started to play with her thoughts as she ascended the hill.

Y/n spent almost four weeks without seeing her beloved, she couldn't help but wonder how he was holding up in this terrible weather. There was a snowstorm coming up after all.

Each step she took, unknowingly, was heavier than the last. Snow attached itself to the end of her shoes, making her feet drag.  Did she have enough stamina for this? It was getting tiresome. Well, not even that.

'I could really go for some noodles right about now.'

She was hungry.

After what felt like forever, Y/n finally managed to get her way back home. It's been two hours since she left the village with the coal riding her back. God, was she starving. The whole time she could only think about making herself a nice meal. But...

She wouldn't be able to enjoy it.

She'd fix herself some noodles, but it would only satiate her hunger, not her loneliness. She missed her husband, her other half, her Love.

He would barely send letters as he was a busy man. Giyu was a Hashira after all, the water pillar. She understood why he'd leave for such long periods of time. The only thing she wanted was for him to be safe. But she was still allowed to miss him, she was allowed to feel lonely.

Giyu would be home with Y/n for three weeks, and be gone the next two. It was heartbreaking to see him go, but comforting to see him back, safe and sound. She just hoped it'd be the same this time, as he'd been gone four weeks instead of two.
