*Alan's POV*

I led Eric around the dorm, trying to hide the butterflies that swarmed inside me. I showed him his bedroom and his reaction was adorable. "Whoa..." He looked like a kid in a candy shop! He looked back at me with a grin stretching from ear to ear, when I realized I was watching him. I'm sure he would think that was weird, so I looked away, blushing. I pulled on the strings of my shirt, trying to collect myself. Taking a deep breath, I turned back to Eric, half expecting him to be giving me weird looks. But instead, he was still staring, only now, he leaned up against the door frame and observed me with a loving grin. By now, my cheeks were burning red. I lifted my hand up to hide them, earning a sly smirk and a chuckle from Eric. "W-What are you looking at?" I questioned. He leaned his head up against the frame.

"You." Was his reply and I felt the butterflies twist and coil in my gut. "Stop that." I couldn't help from smiling a bit, though, I tried covering it up. Eric laughed and came over to me, resting an arm over my shoulders.

"You know, Alan? I have a feeling we're gonna be good friends."

"Me too, Eric." I said with a huge grin.

Me too.

Eric and I spent the rest of the day talking and laughing, and maybe a little bit of flirting. I helped him get settled and unpack his uniforms. By that time, we were beat. I was extremely tired.

Though, Eric and I finished a long time ago, we sat on the floor in front of each other, just talking.

"So, what else do you do besides study?" Eric questioned.

"Well, I read. And watch TV sometimes. But mostly study."

"You don't hang out with your friends?"

"No, not really. I haven't had the need to."

   "Um... maybe because it's fun."

"I don't know, Eric. I'm not very social... Definitely an introvert."

   "Alan. You're kidding..."

   "I'm not."

"Your being social now, aren't you?"

"I guess... But this is different."

   "How?" He smirked.

Was he really going to make me say it? "B-Because... well... it's just that..." Eric arched and eyebrow that made him look devilishly handsome. I wanted to bury my face so he couldn't see my sad attempts at speaking. Eric laughed, "I'm just kidding." He playfully punched my shoulder. In response, I actually punched his shoulder. "Ow! What was that for?"

"For making me fluster." I said giggling. Eric rubbed the spot on his arm and laughed. "You may look small, but you pack a mean punch." We both began laughing while resting on the floor. It took a minute before we calmed ourselves.

I laid there, staring at the ceiling. Eric turned his head to look over and I met his eyes. We smiled at each other. But, I returned my gaze to the ceiling. "Is there something wrong, Alan?"

"No, not at all." We stayed silent for a few minutes before I decided to speak up. "Eric?"

"Hm?" He said with a smile.

   "I'm really glad we're friends..."

   "Me too, Alan."

And with that, we fell asleep.

~

I sat up rubbing the sleep from my eyes. What time is it? I checked the digital clock on Eric's night stand. It read 1:24 AM. Wow... I looked over at Eric, who slept soundly. He was on his back with one arm slung behind his head. He looked so peaceful, I didn't want to disturb him. So, I stood and tiptoed to my room, grabbing an extra blanket. Creeping back into Eric's room, I gently laid the blanket over him. I then took a pillow off of his bed and gently set it halfway under his head. Reaching for his glasses, I gracefully pulled them off and set them on the night stand. Close up, I could see that a lock of hair descended into Eric's eye. I swept it out of his eyelashes then leaned down to his ear.

   "Goodnight, Eric... Sleep well."
