*Eric's POV*
I woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs as it drifted through the air. I stretched and sat up. Noticing the blanket and pillow, I contemplated last night's events. I remember waking up because I heard Alan stir. For some reason, he walked out of the room. I figured he was just going to his room to sleep. I closed my eyes and tried to fall back asleep, when I heard Alan come back in. Only this time, I felt a gentle layer of cotton be lowered onto my body. Alan got me a blanket? I heard more footsteps, then a firm, fluffy object be set halfway under my head. I evened out my breaths, pretending to be asleep. I felt a piece of hair slide out if my eyes, and a tug at the back of my ears. Then my glasses came off. I felt Alan's presence grow as he lowered his head to my ear, "Goodnight, Eric... Sleep well." He said in a sweet whisper. My heart was beating a million miles and hour, I was afraid he might have heard it. The footsteps grew faint as I realized Alan had left to go sleep in his room. Thank you, Alan... Was my last thought before I fell into slumber, again.
I stood up, pulling the pillow and blanket with me. I placed the pillow back where it was on the bed and folded the blanket. I set it on the shelf in the closet, then grabbed my glasses. Quickly changing uniforms, I hurried to the bathroom to wash up before meeting Alan.
When finished, I checked the time on the clock. It read 8:36 AM. I definitely slept in. Pacing down the hallway to the living room I was greeted by a waft of breakfast smells. Immediately, my mouth began to water. But... there was something I had to do before worrying about food. And it involved Alan.
Alan was standing at the counter making two plates of eggs and bacon. I decided to be mysterious and come up behind him, resting my hand on the counter as he was turned away. "Good morning~" I purred.
Alan gasped and jumped, cutely, "God, Eric! You scared me!" I laughed, "Haha, sorry! So, what's all this?"
"Oh, I just figured... you know... since it's you're first day here, that it should start off with some breakfast." He grinned and tried to blow it off like it was nothing. "Alan, that's so kind! You really didn't have to. It's such a burden for you to go through all this trouble."
"Oh nonsense, Eric! You deserve it!"
"Really, Alan, I feel bad because you're doing all this for me and you haven't gotten anything in return." Alan looked up at me, puzzled. "Eric, that's what friends are for, right?" He smiled and giggled as if I had just tickled him. Okay... now is my chance... I planned.
As Alan turned back to fixing the plates I gently took his chin and pressed a light kiss on his jawbone. I purposely made it last for a few seconds before letting go. Wow... I can't believe I just did that. It felt amazing to kiss Alan. His skin was so soft and warm.
Alan shot straight up, wide eyed. He stared directly in front of him and I watched as his cheeks turned from pale, to pink, then rosy red. He quickly hid them in his hands, then opened a spot in between his fingers to peek up at me. "W-What was t-that for?" He stuttered.
"For this... and for last night." I gave him a loving smile.
"Y-You heard?"
"I did. Thank you, Alan, really. I wish I could do more... but, we just met!" I laughed. Alan giggled, putting his hand over his mouth.
He cleared his throat after some silence. "So... shall we eat?" He went over to the dining table and placed the two plates across from each other. I set out forks, knives, and napkins, as Alan poured us some orange juice. One meal later, we were full and I was beaming. "Alan, that was delicious! Where did you learn to cook like that?" He thanked me then said, "Oh, you know, Internet recipes."
I laughed, "You have a talent." I then stood up, taking our plates to the sink, then began cleaning up the kitchen. I turned on the faucet and started to scrub the plates. Alan came up next to me and put a hand on my back.
"Hey, you don't have to clean up for me."
"Alan, come on, it's the least I can do to help."
"Fine, but you have to let me dry the dishes." He laughed.
"Alright." For the next couple of dishes, I scrubbed them, rinsed them, then handed them to Alan to dry. Then, I had an idea...
Alan was drying the last dish when I grabbed a handful of suds and plopped them right onto Alan's nose. He went cross-eyed to see the massive amount of soap that sat there. I laughed because he looked so cute. Apparently, I didn't notice until the last second, when Alan's soap filled hand, was already on my chin, and then my cheek, and then my forehead. As soon as I knew it, my face was full of suds. Alan was basically on the floor, he was laughing so hard. "Oh yeah?" I pulled Alan up by the waist and dug my face into his neck. He and I were covered in suds, laughing uncontrollably. We leaned on each other for support, in sight of our unstable selves.
We finished laughing and stood up in unison, only to come inches away from each other, as we did. We were face to face. I wanted so badly to kiss him, in that moment, just take him into my arms and hold him. But Alan backed away and blushed. "S-Sorry." He stammered. I grabbed his hand and pulled him back, into an embrace. Our bodies pressed together as his arms -wrapped around my neck- complimented mine, which snaked around his waist.
"Don't be..."
