15. captain blood

arabella woke up to a good morning text from an unknown number, and she smiled. she gave her number to her dad last night so they could keep in touch. she texted him back, saying good morning, before sitting up in her bed. 

julie was awake, but connie was still sleeping. when julie looked over to see arabella awake, she smiled at her. "good morning, bella!"

"good morning, jules." arabella yawned, before rubbing her eyes and checking the time. 

"we should probably wake connie up. we have class today so we have to leave soon. you want me to wake her up, or you?"

"i will."

julie nodded before heading to the bathroom to get ready, and arabella walked over to connie. arabella learned that she's a pretty light sleeper, so she shook her by the shoulder. sure enough, she woke up. 

"huh? what's happening?"

"wake up time, babe. we have class."

connie groaned before sitting up,  checking the time. it was 11:06, but she complained about it being too early. 

the girls got ready and left their rooms to gather up the rest of the team. arabella knocked on fulton and dean's door, while julie knocked on charlie's and connie on kenny's. 

she didn't get an answer, so once most of the team was out, she told them to knock on the door as hard as they could, which wasn't that hard because they were tired. "wake them up, boys."

finally, after a minute of knocking, fulton opened the door, obviously not happy. "what's wrong with you guys? it's too early."

"class time, weedy reedy."

he groaned, and went back into his room. he left the door open, so the team could see dean's passed out body on his bed. fulton threw a pillow at his face, which caused him to wake up. 

finally, after getting dean up, the team went to the room where they were supposed to learn. however, no one was able to learn, because they were all asleep. arabella, who was sitting at a desk towards the back, couldn't help falling asleep. she loved ms. mackay, but she was exhausted. she didn't skate any sprints, but she was still up late. 

everyone was yawning, or already asleep. luis, who was sitting near arabella, was one of the ones that fell asleep. ms. mackay walked over to him and tried to wake him up, but luis just mumbled, "not my best".

he woke up a second later, apologizing to ms. mackay. but his head dipped back down and he fell asleep again. ms. mackay sighed, about to wake him up again, but charlie stopped her. 

"he needs the sleep, coach kept us late doing sprints after the game."

ms. mackay looked at the team to see them agreeing, still half asleep. "i'm going to go talk to him. you guys stay here, take a nap."

averman raised his head up to try and warn her. "don't, captain blood won't be happy if we miss practice."

"well then, i guess we'll both be unhappy." she turned the lights off and left the room, locking it so no one would bother them. arabella got up and grabbed two extra desks, before putting them all next to each other to make a bench. she laid down on the makeshift bed, but it wasn't that comfy. she wished she had her pillow. 

kenny noticed this, and took the extra jacket he had brought. it was the crewneck he gave arabella before, and he realized she needed something to lay on. he knew arabella wouldn't take it, so he waited until she was asleep.
