ANNA'S POV
Today has been amazing. Ethan grew the balls to take me out to the beach. We did cute couple things which was surprising, because I thought all guys hated that stuff. Besides people asking me to take pictures for them with Ethan, everything was perfect. The sun was starting to set now, and we were laying on a beach towel looking at the sunset.
I leaned my head on Ethan's shoulder and he wrapped his arm around me.
"Hey Eth..." I whispered
"Yeah?" He whispered back. Okay I'm going to cut the shit with all this whispering, because I'm sounding too girly.
"This was nice." I admitted.
"But this is even better..." Confused by what he meant I turned to face him, but before I knew it his lips crashed onto mine. No this isn't where I describe fireworks, I don't believe that happens. This kiss though, sent shivers all through my body. I pulled away after a while and we both calmly rested our foreheads against each other.
All of a sudden I heard screaming, very familiar screaming. I turned to look at the shore and sure enough Grayson was there screaming.
"Should've known those goofballs would spy on us." Ethan said.
"Yeah." I laughed agreeing. I looked closer and realized he was screaming, but in fear. Ethan pulled me up and in two seconds flat. We were in our feet, running in their direction.
I ran ahead and and saw Gray panicking.
"GRAYSON! GRAYSON! WHAT HAPPENED MAN?!" Ethan yelled over the crowd.
"I-I-I don't know we were just talking and then she fell...." I pushed past the crowd, I didn't need his explanation. I needed my friend right now. I saw her slowly getting up. I rushed to her side helping her get on her feet.
"You okay?" I asked worryingly
"Yeah I was just joking and then I had a small fall I'll be fine." she said brushing off my question.
"We need to get you to a hospital make sure you don't have a concussion." I said grabbing her wrist ready to pull her to my car.
"NO!" She screamed catching people's attention. "I mean no. I can't afford to go, I don't have money like that to waste. If I feel fine, so I'll be fine." she said trying to convince me to drop it. Again. She was my best friend and I was always scared I was going to lose her.
"Anna I didn't mean to ruin your date. I'll leave, plus I have to get to the bakery for work." she said quietly.
"Are you kidding me?!?" I hissed. "You didn't ruin it, I just want you to be okay. Also how can you go to work, you just fell from a huge ass rock?!" It was like explaining a small kid not to touch a hot iron.
"I-i'll buy some aspirin from the pharmacy or something, but I need to get to work I'm already behind on this months rent. I've taken off too much time hanging out with you and the guys." Before I could say anything she ran as fast as she could to the parking lot taking her board with her.
"Why won't you ever listen?" I whispered to no one in particular.
"What happened is, she okay?" Ethan asked.
"She never is." I thought to myself.
"What's that?" He said. Crap. I must've said that out loud.
"Uhm I said she's fine, just a little bump. I think you should ask her about that later." I hated lying for her, but this wasn't my secret to tell.
"Okay let's go." I grabbed his hand and went to some more of the small boardwalk rides. I know when Mola gets like this. She'll be a workaholic for some time and I won't see her except for school and work. I knew I couldn't change her, but I was there for support. She needed me and I needed her.
